Suitable for reptiles that need UVB where the animal can get reasonably close to the tube; use the distance chart on the pack to set the height. For desert species or tall enclosures where UVB has to reach further, the ReptiSun T5 HO 10.0 gives more UVB at the same distance. Not a heat source, so pair it with a basking lamp.

Keep the tube at least 15 cm from your reptile. Do not put glass or plastic between the tube and the animal, as both block UVB, and note that fine mesh can block up to half of the light and UVB. UVB fades before the visible light does, so replace the tube every 12 months; write the start date on the end cap.

Switch off and unplug the fixture before changing the tube, and let it cool. The tube contains mercury, so take it to a lamp or fluorescent recycling drop-off rather than the household bin.
