Suitable for, and not suitable for

Suitable for reptiles that bask in open or midday sun, including in tall enclosures. Not suitable for shade-dwelling species or animals that bask only occasionally; Exo Terra makes the UVB100 and UVB200 for those. This is an intense UV source, so set the distance from the basking spot using the guidance on the pack. It is not a heat source, so pair it with a suitable basking lamp.

Care

Replace the tube once it reaches the end of its stated UV life, even if it still lights up. Glass, acrylic and fine mesh between the tube and the animal block part of the UVB. Follow the distance guidance on the pack, and always give the animal shaded areas it can move to, so it can control how much UV it gets.

Safety

Switch off and let the tube cool before changing it, and avoid looking straight at the lit tube. For use with reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates only.
