Exo Terra Mini Tall Terrarium 30 x 30 x 45cm

A tall, compact glass terrarium built for small climbers rather than ground-dwellers. The Exo Terra Mini Tall Terrarium (30 × 30 × 45 cm, model PT2602) is an all-glass, front-opening enclosure that trades floor space for vertical height — suited to tree frogs, small arboreal geckos such as crested or gargoyle geckos, mantises and jumping spiders, in a footprint small enough for a desk or shelf.

Key features
  • Dual front-opening glass doors — access at eye level without reaching in from above, which matters for skittish arboreal species that startle at overhead movement.
  • Full stainless steel mesh top — removable, and open enough for UVB and heat lamps mounted above to work through it at close to full strength.
  • Waterproof, raised base — tolerates a substrate heat mat underneath and copes with drainage layers for bioactive or naturalistic builds.
  • Five closable cable and tubing inlets on both side panels — for misting lines, fogger tubing or probe wires without leaving a permanent gap.
  • Cuttable rock-effect background panel included, fitted to the rear pane.

Exo Terra doesn't publish an empty weight or glass thickness for this model.

Will it fit my enclosure setup?

At 45 cm tall on a 30 × 30 cm footprint, this size suits species that climb more than they roam — it's undersized for adult bearded dragons or blue-tongue skinks, and better matched to small arboreal frogs, geckos and invertebrates. Exo Terra doesn't publish a specific minimum lamp-mounting clearance for this model — check your chosen heat or UVB lamp's own distance chart against the internal height once substrate, foliage and any canopy hide are in place.

What's included / what you'll still need

Included: the glass enclosure, mesh top, waterproof base and the cuttable background panel.

Not included: substrate, foliage, hides, heating and lighting, a thermostat, and a hygrometer. This is the enclosure only.

Suitable for, and not suitable for

Suited to small arboreal and semi-arboreal species — tree frogs, crested and gargoyle geckos, mantises and jumping spiders. Not sized for larger or predominantly ground-dwelling reptiles, which need the floor space of a wide-format terrarium instead.

Care and maintenance

Clean glass with a reptile-safe cleaner, not household glass cleaner. For humidity-loving species run with a fogger or misting system, check the mesh top regularly — it's the surface most likely to accumulate mineral deposits from misting.

Warranty and delivery

Covered by the manufacturer's standard warranty against manufacturing defects, in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Ships as a fragile glass item — contact us before ordering if you need a delivery timeframe for a specific postcode.

Goes well with

An Exo Terra Mist Fogger or misting system for humidity-loving arboreal species, a canopy hide, and — sold separately — heating and UVB lighting sized to a 45 cm-high enclosure.

Common questions

Is this terrarium tall enough for a crested gecko?

Yes — the 45 cm height and mesh top suit crested and gargoyle gecko housing, though check current care guidance on minimum enclosure size, which may recommend larger for an adult long-term.

Does it come with a background or decor?

A cuttable rock-effect background panel is included. Foliage, hides, substrate and climbing branches are sold separately.

Can I keep dart frogs in this terrarium?

The mesh top is designed for ventilation and UVB/heat penetration rather than the high, stable humidity dart frogs need — a dedicated glass-lid or bioactive dart frog terrarium is generally a better fit.

How do I add a misting or fogging system?

Run tubing through one of the five closable side inlets rather than propping the mesh top, which compromises security.
