Zoo Med ReptiBreeze Aluminium Screen Cage 41 x 41 x 51cm
An all-mesh cage that keeps humidity-tolerant arboreal reptiles cool, ventilated and easy to see. The Zoo Med ReptiBreeze Aluminium Screen Cage (Small, 41 x 41 x 51 cm) is a fully screened enclosure built from black anodised aluminium, designed for small climbing lizards that do better with open airflow than in a sealed glass tank.
Key features
- Black anodised aluminium frame and mesh – won't rust or corrode in humid setups, and resists the scratching claws of active climbers.
- Large front door – full-width opening for feeding, misting and handling without disturbing the whole enclosure.
- Bottom access door – lets you change substrate and clean without dismantling the cage.
- Full mesh walls and roof – maximise airflow and let a heat or UVB fixture mounted on top reach the animal, though mesh does reduce UVB – see the notes on your specific bulb.
- Tool-light assembly – panels and hardware are included; Zoo Med states it goes together with a screwdriver.

Will it fit my enclosure needs?
Because it's a screen cage rather than a glass tank, the internal clearance is close to the external size – there's no thick glass or plastic wall eating into usable space, so you get close to the full 51 cm of height for branches, basking platforms and a heat/UVB fixture mounted on the mesh roof.
Which size do I need?
This is the Small (16 x 16 x 20 in). Zoo Med also makes this cage as Medium (41 x 41 x 76 cm / 16 x 16 x 30 in), Large (46 x 46 x 91 cm / 18 x 18 x 36 in) and X-Large (61 x 61 x 122 cm / 24 x 24 x 48 in) – go up a size as an animal grows or if it needs more climbing height than floor space.
Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suitable for small arboreal species that want height and airflow over floor space: crested and other arboreal geckos, anoles and small day geckos, plus – per Zoo Med – young Green Iguanas and small Old World chameleons that have outgrown a starter enclosure. Not suitable for species that need a humid, sealed microclimate, since mesh sides let humidity escape quickly; not for burrowing or ground-dwelling species that need floor area more than height; and not for animals small enough to fit through the mesh gaps.
What's included / not included
The cage, mesh panels and all assembly hardware are included. A matching substrate bottom tray and a stand with shelf are sold separately – worth budgeting for if you don't already have a stable, cleanable surface to stand the cage on.
Care and maintenance
Because the whole enclosure is mesh, mist more often than you would a glass tank to hold humidity for species that need it, and expect to top up water and clean the bottom door more frequently in dry rooms.
Warranty and delivery
Zoo Med backs the ReptiBreeze with a 1-year warranty. Standard consumer guarantees under Australian Consumer Law apply in addition to this.
Common questions
Can I mount a heat lamp or UVB tube directly on top?
Yes – the mesh roof is designed for lamp fixtures to sit on top. Mesh does reduce UVB reaching the animal, so UVB bulbs generally need mounting closer over a screen top than over an open-top enclosure; check your specific bulb's mesh-adjusted distance.
Does this cage hold humidity well?
Not on its own – full mesh sides ventilate quickly. Species that need higher humidity usually need more frequent misting or a fogger/dripper rather than relying on the enclosure to hold moisture.
What sits underneath to catch substrate and mess?
Zoo Med sells a matching substrate bottom tray for this exact model, sold separately.
Can this stand on a normal shelf?
It can, provided the shelf is stable and easy to clean underneath – Zoo Med also sells a purpose-made stand with shelf for this cage.
