Exo Terra Repti Clear 250/350 Carbon Cartridge

Keeps a Repti Clear filter's water polish and odour control fresh. This is a genuine Exo Terra two-pack of carbon cartridges for the Repti Clear F250 (PT3610) and F350 (PT3620) internal filters. Activated carbon is a wearing media — it stops adsorbing tannins, odours and discolouration once it's spent, so it needs regular replacement rather than a rinse.

Key features
  • Genuine fit — made for both the Repti Clear F250 (PT3610) and F350 (PT3620).
  • Chemical filtration stage — activated carbon pulls tannins, odours and discolouration out of the water column.
  • Two-pack — one to fit now, one spare for the next service.
  • Tool-free fit — lifts straight out of the filter case by hand.

Fitting

How do I fit it?

Unplug the filter, separate the case from the motor housing, remove the spent cartridge and fit the new one in the same slot, then reassemble.

Care and maintenance

Exo Terra recommends replacing carbon media roughly every 6–8 weeks. Carbon has a finite adsorption capacity and cannot be recharged by rinsing, unlike the foam stages.

Warranty and delivery

Ships by standard parcel delivery. As a consumable filter media, this item isn't separately warranted beyond your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Common questions

Does carbon need replacing even if the water looks clear?

Yes — carbon exhausts its adsorption capacity before water visibly changes, so it's worth replacing on a schedule, roughly every 6–8 weeks, rather than waiting for a visible sign.

Can I rinse and reuse a cartridge?

No — once activated carbon is saturated it stops adsorbing. Rinsing removes debris but doesn't restore capacity.

Does this fit both the F250 and the F350?

Yes, this cartridge is the shared carbon part for both models.

Will carbon remove medication from the water?

Activated carbon can strip dissolved medication from the water, so remove the cartridge, or run foam only, during a treatment course.
