Fluval 07 Output Nozzle 107 - 407

Restores a clean, directed return jet to any 07 canister.

The genuine Fluval 07 output nozzle, part A20053, is the angled jet on the end of the return stem that puts water back into the tank. One part covers the whole range — 107, 207, 307 and 407. It is the fitting that goes brittle, yellows or snaps at the swivel after a few years under aquarium lighting.

Key features
  • Genuine Fluval A20053 — moulded to the 07 return stem, so it clips on and holds its angle instead of drooping under flow.
  • Fits all four 07 canisters — unusual in a range where heads, impellers and baskets are all model-specific.
  • Aims the return — across the surface for gas exchange, or down the glass for circulation. A cracked nozzle does neither.
What's included
  • 1 x output nozzle
Not included
  • The return stem it mounts on. This is the tip only — the stem comes in the intake and output kit for the 107 and 207 or the 307 and 407.
  • Hosing, rim connectors and suction cups. All separate parts.
  • The spray bar. An alternative fitting rather than a companion — see the 07 series spray bar kit.

Will it fit my filter?

One nozzle covers the entire 07 range, so you do not need to know which of the four you own before ordering.

Filter Takes A20053
Fluval 107, 207, 307, 407 Yes — all four
Fluval 06 and 05 series Not listed by Fluval; those ranges have their own output fittings
Fluval FX2, FX4, FX6 No — unrelated plumbing
Nozzle or spray bar?

Both mount on the same return stem, and they do different jobs.

Consideration Output nozzle Spray bar
Flow pattern One concentrated stream Spread along the bar
Surface agitation Strong and localised Gentle and even
Best for Open tanks needing circulation, and gas exchange in marine or heavily stocked tanks Planted tanks, bettas, fry, anything that dislikes current
Blockage risk Low — one large aperture Higher — small holes catch debris
Suitable for, and not suitable for

Suitable for replacing a nozzle that has cracked, yellowed or lost the friction in its swivel, for a second-hand 07 filter that arrived incomplete, and for converting from a spray bar back to a jet return.

Not suitable for the FX series, or for 05 and 06 canisters. It will not fix weak flow caused by clogged media, a blocked intake strainer or a partly closed AquaStop valve. It is also the wrong choice for fish that struggle in current.

Care and maintenance

Pull the nozzle at each water change and clear it with a filter brush — biofilm inside the aperture narrows it and quietly costs flow. Check the swivel still holds position under load, since one that creeps upward ends up blowing across the surface. Plastics near aquarium lighting go brittle with age, so replace a yellowed or crazed nozzle before it snaps into the tank.

Warranty and delivery

Supplied as a genuine Fluval service part. Fluval does not publish a separate warranty term for individual moulded replacement parts; your rights under the Australian Consumer Law apply in full and nothing here limits them. Ships as a standard small parcel anywhere in Australia.

Common questions

Does the Fluval 07 output nozzle fit all four canisters?

Yes. Fluval lists part A20053 against the 107, 207, 307 and 407. Unlike the motor heads and impellers, which are model-specific, the nozzle is common across the range.

Does it come with the return stem?

No. This is the nozzle tip only. The stem it pushes onto is supplied in the intake and output kit, which is a separate part.

Can I use a spray bar instead of the Fluval 07 output nozzle?

Yes, they mount on the same return stem. The nozzle gives one concentrated stream and stronger surface movement; the spray bar spreads flow gently and suits planted tanks, bettas and fry.

Why has my return jet gone weak when the nozzle looks clean?

A nozzle can look clear and still be restricted by biofilm inside the aperture. Beyond that, weak return flow usually traces to clogged media, a blocked intake strainer or a partly closed AquaStop valve.

Will this nozzle fit a Fluval 306 or 406?

Fluval lists A20053 for the 07 series only. The 06 range has its own output fittings, so check the part number in your filter's manual before ordering.
