Fluval 4 Plus Polyester Pads
Fine polyester media that catches what the foam misses.
Genuine Fluval polyester filter pads, part A192, made for the Fluval 4 Plus internal filter. Sold four to a pack, they sit as the final mechanical stage in the filter, trapping fine suspended particles that pass straight through coarser foam and leaving the water genuinely clear rather than just filtered.

Will it fit my filter?
This pad is sized specifically for the Fluval 4 Plus internal filter. It is not the same cut as the Fluval 3 Plus pad (A191) – check the model number on your filter body before ordering, since the two are easy to confuse.
Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suitable for routine media changes on a Fluval 4 Plus, and for polishing water after a substrate disturbance or a cloudy new setup. Not suitable for other Fluval internal or canister filters – it will not fit the 3 Plus, U-series or 06/07-series canisters.
Care and maintenance
Rinse in removed tank water at each service to extend the life of a pad rather than replacing it outright. Replace it once it stays grey after rinsing, has compacted flat, or has started to fall apart in the hand – a disintegrating pad sheds fibre into the tank instead of removing it.

Common questions
How often should I change the polyester pad?
There is no fixed interval – it depends on bioload and how often the tank is disturbed. Rinse it at each filter service and only replace it once rinsing no longer restores it.
Does this fit the Fluval 3 Plus?
No. The 3 Plus takes A191, a different size. This pad (A192) is specific to the 4 Plus.
Can I use this pad alone without the foam?
It is designed to work alongside the filter's foam stage, not to replace it. Removing the foam stage drops the biological filtration the tank relies on.
