Genuine Fluval ammonia remover pads for FX series canister filters. Fluval part A259 is a 3 pack of pads that do two jobs at once: they trap floating particles such as debris, excess food and waste (mechanical filtration), and they remove toxic ammonia as water passes through (chemical filtration).

Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suitable for FX2, FX4, FX5 and FX6 owners setting up a new tank, running a heavily stocked tank, or recovering after a medication course. It does not replace biological filtration (the bacteria in your filter that break down fish waste), so keep your biological media running alongside it. Not made for other canister filters.
Care
Chemical media has a limited capacity, so test ammonia while the pads are in use and replace them once readings start to rise again.
