Size

Harvest live brine shrimp without losing them down the drain. The Ziss Brine Shrimp Collector/Feeder is a stainless steel sieve that separates live artemia from hatchery water, letting you rinse off salt and desalinate before feeding out. It comes in two mesh sizes so you can match the sieve to the size of the shrimp you're harvesting.

Key features
  • Stainless steel mesh — durable and won't cloud like plastic sieves over repeated use.
  • Two mesh sizes — 0.10 mm for newly-hatched nauplii, 0.22 mm for adult brine shrimp and coarser live foods like daphnia.
  • Suction cup mount — fixes inside the tank or a bucket while you rinse.
  • Stackable design — nests with other Ziss sieves for multi-stage rinsing.

Suitable for, and not suitable for
  • Suitable for harvesting and rinsing live brine shrimp and similar small live foods in fresh or marine setups.
  • Not suitable for holding water long-term — it's a sieve, not a container. Use it with the Ziss Artemia Blender or a bucket for hatching.
Care and maintenance

Rinse in fresh water after each use to clear salt build-up, and check the mesh isn't stretched or torn where it meets the frame.

Common questions

Which mesh size should I buy?

Choose 0.10 mm if you're harvesting shrimp within a day or two of hatching, when they're smallest. Choose 0.22 mm once they've grown, or for daphnia and similar foods.

Can I use this for saltwater fish food too?

Yes, the stainless mesh is safe in both fresh and saltwater.

Does it hold water on its own?

No — it's a sieve for harvesting and rinsing, not a hatching container. Pair it with a hatchery like the Ziss Artemia Blender.
