Sift the mess out, leave the sand behind. The Zoo Med Repti Sand Scooper is a heavy-duty scoop-and-sieve tool for spot-cleaning sand and other fine loose substrates. Angled edges reach into corners a flat-edged scoop misses, and the mesh base lets clean sand fall straight back into the enclosure while droppings and old food stay in the scoop.

Key features
  • Scoop-and-sieve design — waste is captured while clean sand sifts back through the mesh, so a daily spot-clean does not waste substrate.
  • Angled corner edges — built to get into enclosure corners a flat-edged scoop cannot reach.
  • Purpose-built for fine substrates — made for Zoo Med's own ReptiSand and Vita Sand, and works with other sand or fine loose particulate substrate.
  • Rinse-clean handle — hoses off between uses, no assembly and nothing to maintain.
Specifications
Item number TA-30 (SKU ZM275)
Type Scoop-and-sieve substrate tool
Designed for Zoo Med ReptiSand, Vita Sand and other sand or fine loose substrates
Suitable for, and not suitable for

Suitable for: daily spot-cleaning of sand, calcium sand and other fine loose substrates in reptile enclosures.

Not suitable for: bark, mulch, coconut fibre or other coarse substrates that will not pass through the sieve mesh — a solid scoop or tongs suit those better.

Care and maintenance

Rinse under water after each use and let it air dry before putting it away.

Goes well with

Pairs naturally with Zoo Med ReptiSand or Vita Sand, and with a reptile-safe enclosure cleaner for the full substrate changes a spot-clean tool cannot replace.

Warranty and delivery

Covered by Zoo Med's manufacturer warranty against defects. Ships via standard delivery.

Common questions

Will it work with substrates other than sand?

It is built for sand and other fine, loose particulate substrates. Chunkier materials such as bark or mulch will not sieve through the mesh as cleanly.

How often should I spot-clean?

Daily spot-cleaning with a sieve scoop is the easiest way to keep a sand enclosure smelling fresh and to stretch the time between full substrate changes.

Does it come in different sizes?

Zoo Med sells this scoop as one size, suited to standard reptile enclosures.
