Aqua Medic mV Probe L70mm - Plastic PG 13.5mm Threaded

A redox probe built to thread into a panel, not just dangle in a sump. The Aqua Medic mV Probe L70mm Plastic PG13.5mm Threaded is a compact, 70 mm redox (ORP) electrode with a plastic body and a PG13.5 threaded fitting, designed to mount permanently through a control panel, sump wall or reactor housing rather than sit loose in the water column. It reads the same millivolt signal as Aqua Medic's other mV probes and connects to any BNC-input controller.

Key features
  • PG13.5 threaded fitting — screws into a panel, bulkhead or housing cut-out, so the probe stays put instead of relying on a clip or bracket.
  • Compact 70 mm body — suits tight sump baffles, small dosing chambers and control panels where a full-length probe will not fit.
  • Standard BNC connection — works with all Aqua Medic measuring units and with most third-party monitors and controllers fitted with a BNC input.
  • Plastic body — tolerates salt creep and day-to-day handling better than a glass-bodied probe, at a small cost to absolute accuracy.
  • Consumable electrode, 6-month warranty — Aqua Medic classes pH and mV electrodes as wear items, so the warranty term reflects normal ageing rather than a manufacturing fault.

Which mV probe do I need?

Aqua Medic sells this electrode in three formats. All three read the same redox signal — the difference is body material and fitting.

Model Body Length Best suited to
L120mm Plastic Standard Plastic 120 mm Everyday reef and marine monitoring, general controller pairing
L120mm Glass Laboratory Standard Glass 120 mm (160 mm overall) Laboratory-grade response for demanding dosing or ozone-control setups
L70mm Plastic PG13.5 Threaded (this page) Plastic 70 mm Compact in-line mounting through a PG13.5 fitting where panel or sump clearance is tight
Will it fit my panel or sump?

Check the cut-out or bulkhead you are mounting into accepts a PG13.5 thread before ordering — that is the fitting standard across the range this probe is designed to suit. At 70 mm long it is roughly half the length of Aqua Medic's standard L120mm probes, so it is the pick where sump depth or panel clearance is the limiting factor.

Suitable for, and not suitable for

Suitable for permanent, threaded panel or bulkhead mounting where a loose probe is not practical, and for tight spaces that will not take a 120 mm probe.

Not suitable where you need a probe that simply hangs in open water with no fixed mounting point — the L120mm Plastic or Glass Standard probes above suit that use better.

Warranty and delivery

Electrodes carry a 6-month Aqua Medic warranty as a wear item, in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law. Standard delivery applies.

Common questions

What does the PG13.5 thread fit?

PG13.5 is a standard cable-gland style thread used across Aqua Medic's control panels, bulkhead fittings and reactor housings — check your specific cut-out or fitting accepts this thread size before ordering.

Can I use this probe loose in a sump instead of a plastic L120mm probe?

You can, but it is designed and priced for threaded mounting. If you just need a probe to sit in open water, the L120mm Plastic Standard probe is the simpler everyday choice.

Does the shorter length affect accuracy?

No — it reads the same millivolt signal as Aqua Medic's other mV probes. The shorter body is about fitting the mounting point, not about sensitivity.

Why is the warranty only six months?

Aqua Medic classes pH and mV electrodes as consumables — the glass membrane and reference junction age with use, so the warranty reflects normal wear rather than a fault.
