Bioscape Airline Check Valves 2 Pack

Stops tank water siphoning back into an air pump. This two-pack of Bioscape airline check valves fits standard aquarium airline and lets air flow one way only — toward the tank. When the pump switches off, the valve closes and stops water running back down the line into the pump body.

Key features
  • One-way valve action — blocks backflow the moment the pump stops.
  • Fits standard airline — drops inline with the tubing you already run.
  • Two-pack — enough for a pump with two outlets, or a spare for later.
  • Essential wherever a pump sits at or below the waterline — the more common the setup, the more it matters.

Type One-way airline check valve (non-return valve)
Fitting Standard aquarium airline

Bioscape does not publish valve dimensions or the exact plastic used for this part — if you need to confirm fit against a specific fitting, check the valve against a sample of your existing airline before ordering in bulk.

Suitable for, and not suitable for
  • Suitable for: any air pump run where the pump sits at or below the tank's waterline — the majority of sump and cabinet installations.
  • Not suitable for: use as a flow control valve — these only stop backflow, they don't regulate airflow. For that, use an airline control valve instead.
Care and maintenance
  • Check the valve moves freely every few months — mineral build-up can stick a valve closed or open.
  • Replace the valve if it no longer seats cleanly; a stuck-open valve gives no protection at all.
  • Fit with the arrow (where marked) pointing toward the tank, in the direction of airflow.

Warranty and delivery

Covered by the standard Bioscape supplier warranty against manufacturing defects, in addition to the consumer guarantees you're entitled to under Australian Consumer Law. Ships as a small, light parcel with standard delivery.

Common questions

Do I need one of these, or is my pump fine without it?

If the pump sits above the aquarium's waterline, water can't siphon back and a check valve is optional insurance. If the pump is level with or below the waterline — common with cabinet-mounted or sump setups — a check valve is essential.

Can I use one valve for two outlets?

No — each outlet needs its own valve. This two-pack suits a twin-outlet pump or one pump plus a spare.

Does this control how much air comes through?

No, it only blocks backflow. Use a Bioscape airline control valve if you want to reduce airflow to a stone or ornament.

Will it fit airline from other brands?

It's sized for standard aquarium airline, which is the same bore used across most Australian retail brands, but check against your existing tubing if you're unsure.
