Why a dedicated kit
Household sponges and scourers carry traces of detergent, which is toxic to fish and invertebrates even in tiny amounts. Keeping a cleaning kit solely for the aquarium removes that risk, and a razor scraper clears calcified or coralline deposits that a sponge alone will only smear around.

Suitable for, and not suitable for

- Not suitable for: acrylic aquariums (the razor will scratch them), or as a substitute for a gravel vacuum when doing a water change.
Care and maintenance
Rinse the sponges after every clean to keep grit from building up and scratching the glass on the next pass. Dry the razor blade before storing it to slow rust, and replace either the sponge heads or the blade once they stop working cleanly.

Common questions
Does this kit include a gravel vacuum?
No. It covers glass cleaning only — corner sponge, flat sponge and razor scraper. Gravel cleaning and water changes need a separate gravel cleaner or water changer.
Can I use the razor on an acrylic tank?
No. The blade will scratch acrylic. Use the sponge heads only on acrylic, or choose a purpose-made acrylic-safe pad instead.
Will this reach a bigger tank than 30cm?
It's sized for around 30cm. For tanks from 60 to 90cm, Bioscape's longer-reach kit (BIS44) is the better fit.
Are the sponge and razor replaceable?
Bioscape sells replacement sponge and razor packs for the 60–90cm kit (BIS44); it has not published separate replacement parts for this 30cm kit.
