Sized for the Exo Terra Small Tall Terrarium (45 × 45 × 60 cm), whose rear glass is 45 cm wide by 60 cm high. Setting it up in the Small Wide (45 × 45 × 45 cm) instead? You'll need the shorter PT2955 panel from the table below, not this one.

All five Exo Terra Rock Backgrounds are cut to match a specific Exo Terra Natural Terrarium. Measure your terrarium's rear glass panel – width × height – and match it against the model below.

Backgrounds can be trimmed down with scissors or a craft knife for a smaller footprint, but they can't be stretched to cover a larger one – when in doubt, size up rather than down.

One 45 × 60 cm rock-effect background panel. Silicone sealant to mount it, and the terrarium itself, are sold separately.

• Suitable for terrestrial and arboreal reptiles and amphibians that make use of vertical space, and both tropical and desert terrarium styles.
• Not suitable for permanent submersion – this is a terrarium backdrop, not a rated aquatic or paludarium liner, and it hasn't been tested below the waterline.

Wipe down with a damp cloth. Avoid solvents or abrasive cleaners, which can degrade the polystyrene coating. On a taller panel, check the upper edge is still well seated in high-humidity setups where condensation tends to run down the glass.

The panel is non-toxic and safe for contact with reptiles and amphibians. Keep heat sources such as ceramic heat emitters and heat mats at the manufacturer's recommended clearance from the panel – polystyrene is heat-sensitive and can warp or scorch if a fixture is mounted too close.

Can I use this to give my Small Wide terrarium extra height?

No – this panel is cut to the Small Tall's taller rear glass and can't be stretched to fit a shorter or narrower enclosure. It could be trimmed down for a Small Wide, but you'd be paying for material you cut away; the PT2955 panel is the better fit and the better value.

Does the extra height make it harder to fit than the shorter panels?

Not materially – the mounting method is the same bead of silicone across the back. It's just a larger sheet, so having a second pair of hands to hold it in place while the silicone cures makes the job easier.

What do I use to stick it to the glass?

A 100% aquarium-safe silicone sealant, applied in a bead pattern to the back of the panel before pressing it into place. Silicone isn't included with the background.

Will it change the humidity in my terrarium?

Not on its own. It adds a small amount of insulation to the rear glass but doesn't replace your normal misting, ventilation or humidity gradient setup.
