Aquavitro Shrimp Stacks 3 pcs.
Three ceramic pipes shrimp can stack into their own hideout. Aquavitro Shrimp Stacks are a set of three ceramic tubes, each 2 x 2 x 6 cm, from Seachem's aquavitro shrimp care range. Lay them flat, stack them into a pyramid or scatter them through the scape - shrimp use the tubes as a bolt-hole when moulting or carrying eggs, and the ceramic surface grows the biofilm and fine algae they graze on.
Key features
- Three 2 x 2 x 6 cm ceramic pipes - a shorter run than the 5-piece Shrimp Pipes set, sized for smaller layouts.
- Stack any way you like - flat, pyramid or scattered, and rearranged whenever you rescape.
- Shelters shrimp during moulting - cover for the window when a soft new shell leaves them exposed.
- Seclusion for berried females - a retreat for shrimp carrying eggs.
- Doubles as a grazing surface - the ceramic grows biofilm and fine algae shrimp feed on as it establishes.
- Fresh and saltwater safe - aquavitro states the pipes may be used in fresh and saltwater with no concerns noted.

Which pipe set do I need?
| Product | Pack | Pipe size |
|---|---|---|
| Shrimp Stacks | 3 pipes | 2 x 2 x 6 cm each |
| Shrimp Pipes | 5 pipes | 1.3 x 1.3 x 5 cm each |
Stacks is the larger-diameter, shorter-count option; Pipes is the smaller-diameter, higher-count option. Both stack together, so a mixed set gives more configurations than either alone.
Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suitable for: freshwater and saltwater shrimp aquariums, nano and planted tanks, breeding setups where berried females need seclusion.
Not suitable for: tanks housing fish large or determined enough to hunt shrimp through an open-ended tube - the pipes offer refuge, not protection from a predator that can reach in.
Setting them up
Rinse under tap water before placing them in the aquarium, then arrange as desired. No cycling or curing is needed - biofilm and fine algae develop naturally on the ceramic surface as the tank matures.
Goes well with
- Aquavitro Shrimp Pipes - the larger 5-piece set, for mixing pipe diameters in one stack.
- Aquavitro Shrimp Small Hut - an enclosed hide to pair with the open-ended pipes.
- Aquavitro Shrimp Stars - interlocking pieces that combine with the pipes into a larger structure.
Warranty and delivery
Aquavitro does not publish a warranty term for its ceramic shrimp decor. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law apply regardless. Ships as a standard parcel item.
Common questions
Do I need to rinse the pipes before adding them to my tank?
Yes. Aquavitro's instructions are to rinse under tap water, then place the pipes in the aquarium as desired.
What's the difference between Shrimp Stacks and Shrimp Pipes?
Stacks is three pipes at 2 x 2 x 6 cm each; Pipes is five pipes at 1.3 x 1.3 x 5 cm each. Stacks has the larger diameter and shorter length per piece, Pipes has more pieces to arrange.
Can I use these in a saltwater or reef tank?
Yes. Aquavitro states the ceramic pipes may be used in fresh and saltwater with no concerns noted for either.
Will they need cleaning once they're in the tank?
Not for the shrimp's sake - they're designed to grow biofilm and fine algae as a grazing surface, so a light coating is the product doing its job.
