Aqua Medic KCL Solution for pH & mV Probes 60ml
Reference fluid for recalibrating refillable pH and mV/ORP electrodes, so the readings you rely on stay accurate. Aqua Medic KCL Solution is a 60 mL potassium chloride reference fluid used to refill and recalibrate refillable pH and mV/ORP probes. An electrode only measures as accurately as it was last calibrated, and the internal reference fluid degrades with use – this bottle replaces it so your controller keeps reading true.
Key features
- 60 mL bottle – enough for several refills of a typical refillable electrode.
- KCL reference fluid – the standard internal electrolyte for refillable pH and mV/ORP probes.
- Keeps redox and pH readings honest – a drifting electrode misleads any controller or dosing schedule that relies on it.

Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suited to refilling and recalibrating refillable pH and mV/ORP electrodes on any brand of aquarium controller or monitor. Not a water conditioner or additive – this fluid is not intended to be dosed into aquarium water, and doing so serves no purpose in the tank.
Care and maintenance
Aqua Medic recommends changing the electrode's internal reference fluid, and recalibrating against a known reference, on a regular schedule rather than waiting for readings to visibly drift – a slowly drifting redox or pH signal is easy to miss day to day. Store the bottle sealed, away from direct sunlight.
Warranty and delivery
Standard parcel delivery Australia-wide. As a consumable reference fluid, this item isn't covered by a mechanical warranty beyond your rights under the Australian Consumer Law regarding acceptable quality on receipt.
Common questions
How often should I refill or replace the reference fluid?
Aqua Medic recommends changing it regularly as part of routine probe maintenance rather than only when readings drift, since drift on a redox or pH probe is gradual and easy to miss.
Will this work with a non-Aqua Medic electrode?
It's formulated as a standard KCL reference fluid for refillable probes generally, but check your electrode manufacturer's specified reference fluid before use.
Is this the same as a pH 7 or pH 4 calibration buffer?
No – this is the internal electrolyte fluid used to refill the electrode body, not a calibration buffer solution used to set the reading. Aqua Medic sells separate pH calibration fluids for that step.
Can I dose this into my aquarium?
No. It's an electrode reference fluid only and has no beneficial use in aquarium water.
