Aqua Medic Overflow Comb 50 Incl. Holder & Clip
Keeps leaf litter, coral fragments and fish out of your overflow drain. The Aqua Medic Overflow Comb 50 is a 50 cm plastic comb that sits across your overflow box, letting water pass through evenly along its full length while catching debris and keeping livestock in the tank. This version includes both the glass retainer (holder) and the mounting clips, so you can glue the retainer in for a permanent, easy-release fit, or clip the comb straight to the glass instead.

Will it fit my tank?
The comb fits glass between 6 mm and 8 mm thick, which covers most overflow boxes up to around the 6-foot mark. Check the glass thickness of your own overflow before ordering – a heavier euro-braced or oversized system may run thicker glass than this comb is rated for.

Suitable for, and not suitable for
- Suitable for: freshwater and marine overflow boxes and external overflows with 6-8 mm glass.
- Not suitable for: overflow glass outside the 6-8 mm range.
Care and maintenance
Lift the comb out whenever debris builds up against the teeth – weekly is a reasonable starting point, more often in a heavily stocked or heavily planted tank. Rinse under tap water; no chemical cleaners needed.

Common questions
Do I need the retainer, or can I just use the clips?
Either works. The retainer glues permanently inside the overflow and lets you pop the comb in and out without re-gluing, which is the easier option long-term. The clips mount the comb directly to the glass with nothing permanently fixed, which suits anyone who wants to reposition or remove it later.
What's the difference between this and the Overflow Comb 50 Including Clip?
This version ships with both the glass retainer and the clips. The Including Clip version ships with clips only, with no retainer.
Will it fit an acrylic tank?
Aqua Medic doesn't publish acrylic-specific fitting data for this comb. If you're not sure the clip will grip your acrylic overflow securely, check with us before ordering.
