Aqua Medic pH Probe L127mm - Plastic Standard
A direct-fit replacement electrode that keeps pH readings trustworthy for years. This is Aqua Medic's standard plastic-body pH probe (model AM-220.10), built for open placement in a sump or measuring chamber and wired to a BNC connector on roughly 2 m of cable — long enough to run from most sumps to a controller mounted on the stand or wall behind it.
Key features
- Plastic shaft construction — lighter and less fragile than a glass-bodied probe, and the right choice for everyday sump placement rather than pressurised in-line use.
- BNC connector — plugs directly into Aqua Medic pH monitors and controllers, and into most third-party instruments with a standard BNC pH input.
- Around 2 m of cable — reaches from a sump or measuring cup to a controller without needing an extension lead.
- Drop-in replacement — matches the probe originally fitted to Aqua Medic pH monitors and controllers, so calibration habits and mounting don't need to change.

Suitable for, and not suitable for
- Suitable for open sumps, measuring cups and display tanks on freshwater and marine systems running an Aqua Medic pH monitor or controller.
- Not suitable for pressurised in-line fitting on pipework, calcium reactors or nitrate reactors — for that, use the threaded PG13.5 version of this probe instead.
Care and maintenance
pH electrodes are a wear item, not a permanent fixture. Rinse the tip in fresh water after use and keep it wet in storage solution or tank water between calibrations — never let it dry out. Recalibrate regularly against Aqua Medic pH 7 and pH 9 test fluid, and clean the tip with Aqua Medic pH/mV probe cleaning solution if readings start drifting between calibrations.
Goes well with
- Aqua Medic pH/mV Probe Cleaning Solution 60ml — for removing deposits that cause drift.
- Aqua Medic pH 7 and pH 9 test fluid — for calibration.
- Aqua Medic pH Probe L70mm PG13.5mm Threaded — the in-line version, for reactor and pipework installations.
Warranty and delivery
Covered by Aqua Medic's electrode warranty, which the manufacturer states as six months — shorter than most equipment warranties because electrodes are a genuine consumable, not because this one is lower quality. This is in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law. Standard parcel delivery.
Common questions
Will this fit my existing Aqua Medic controller?
Yes. It's the standard plastic-body probe supplied with Aqua Medic pH monitors and controllers, terminated in the same BNC connector.
Can I use it in-line, inside a calcium reactor or a length of pipe?
No — this open-body version isn't pressure-rated. Use the L70mm PG13.5mm threaded probe for pressurised in-line fitting.
How often should I calibrate it?
Aqua Medic recommends regular calibration against fresh pH 7 and pH 9 test fluid — old or contaminated calibration fluid is one of the most common causes of a pH reading that seems "off".
Why does the warranty look shorter than other equipment?
Because pH and mV electrodes are consumables that wear with use, Aqua Medic states a six-month warranty on them specifically, separate from the multi-year cover on controllers and pumps.
