Bioscape LED Landscape Bamboo
A freestanding grow light that sits beside the tank rather than clipping to it. The Bioscape LED Landscape Bamboo is a 6500K LED plant light on a bamboo-and-steel base with a flexible gooseneck, built for aquascapes, moss terrariums, Wabi-Kusa and potted plants as much as for aquariums.
Key features
- Flexible gooseneck – the neck bends and holds its position, so the light angle can be aimed at a Wabi-Kusa arrangement, an open-top tank or a pot rather than only straight down.
- Freestanding base – a bamboo base with black steel body sits beside the setup instead of clipping to glass, so it works on tanks, terrariums and plant displays alike.
- Two sizes – a 7W light on a smaller base and a 9W light on a larger base, both running the same 6500K spectrum.
Specifications
| Variant | Wattage | Colour temperature | Base footprint | Upright height | Weight |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 7W | 7W | 6500K | 27 x 30cm | 35cm | Not published by Bioscape |
| 9W | 9W | 6500K | 32 x 35cm | 45cm | 1.88kg |
Which one do I need?
The 9W sits on a larger base, 32 x 35cm versus 27 x 30cm, and stands taller, 45cm versus 35cm, so it suits a bigger display or a taller open-top tank where the light needs more reach. The 7W is the more compact option for a smaller Wabi-Kusa bowl or nano setup. Bioscape hasn't published a PAR or lux figure for either wattage, so the difference in light intensity delivered to the plants isn't quantified – base size and height are the clearest guide to which fits your space.
Will it fit my setup?
Check the footprint, 27 x 30cm for the 7W or 32 x 35cm for the 9W, against the bench or tank-top space available. This is a freestanding light, not a clip-on, so it needs its own base area rather than just clearing the rim.
Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suitable for open-top aquariums, moss terrariums, Wabi-Kusa bowls and potted plants where a freestanding, adjustable light is wanted. Not suitable where bench space is too tight for the base footprint, or for tanks with a full hood or canopy that would block the gooseneck's reach.
Running costs and noise
Both run silently, with no fan. At a typical 8 hours a day, the 7W version uses around 20 kWh a year and the 9W version around 26 kWh a year – roughly $6 and $8 a year respectively at 30c/kWh. Bioscape hasn't published the operating voltage; check the plug pack or packaging for AU electrical ratings.
Warranty and delivery
Covered against manufacturing defects under Bioscape's warranty, in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
Common questions
Does it clip to the tank like the Clip-on Lamp?
No – it's a freestanding light on its own bamboo base, positioned beside the tank or planter rather than clipped to the rim.
What's the difference between the 7W and 9W?
Base size and height: the 9W sits on a 32 x 35cm base and stands 45cm tall, versus 27 x 30cm and 35cm for the 7W. Both run the same 6500K spectrum.
Can I use it for a terrarium or Wabi-Kusa bowl, not just an aquarium?
Yes – Bioscape markets it for potted plants, moss terrariums and Wabi-Kusa as well as aquariums.
Does the gooseneck stay in position once bent?
Yes, it's a flexible gooseneck designed to hold the angle it's bent to.
