Bioscape Nano Replacement Impeller
A direct-fit impeller for the pump inside the Bioscape Nano Aquarium Unit. When a Nano Aquarium's built-in pump goes quiet, loses flow, or starts rattling, a worn or fouled impeller is the usual cause – and Bioscape sells it as a standalone part rather than requiring a whole new pump.
Key features
- Genuine replacement part – matched to the pump fitted inside the Bioscape Nano Aquarium Unit, for each of the three sizes.
- Fixes the common failure point – impellers wear or clog with debris and calcium build-up long before the rest of the pump does; replacing just the impeller is the cheaper, faster fix.
- Sized to the unit, not universal – the 24 L, 40 L and 61 L Nano Aquarium Units each use a different impeller, sold as three separate SKUs.
Which unit does this fit?
| Impeller SKU | Fits |
|---|---|
| BIS134C | Bioscape Nano Aquarium Unit 24 L (BIS134) |
| BIS135C | Bioscape Nano Aquarium Unit 40 L (BIS135) |
| BIS136C | Bioscape Nano Aquarium Unit 61 L (BIS136) |
Symptoms this fixes
A pump that's gone silent, flow that's visibly weaker than when the tank was new, a rattling or buzzing noise, or a filter that isn't circulating water through all three filter stages properly. Check for debris or calcium scale caught in the impeller housing first – a clean and reseat sometimes solves it without a new part – but if the impeller itself is chipped, cracked, or the magnet has degraded, replacement is the fix.
Fitting
The impeller sits in the pump housing at the base of the filter compartment. No tools beyond your hands are needed – the housing cover unclips, the old impeller lifts out, and the new one seats the same way. Always unplug the unit before opening the pump housing.
Warranty
Covered against manufacturing defects under Bioscape's warranty, in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
Common questions
How do I know which size I need?
Match it to the litre size of your Nano Aquarium Unit – 24 L, 40 L or 61 L – not the tank's physical dimensions, since the three sizes use different pumps.
Will this fit other Bioscape aquariums?
No – it's sized for the pump built into the Nano Aquarium Unit range specifically, not Bioscape's other filters or pumps.
Do I need to replace the whole pump instead?
Not usually. The impeller is the part that wears fastest in a magnetic-drive pump; replacing it first is the cheaper fix and solves the problem in most cases.
Is it safe to run in a marine or reef tank?
Yes – it's the same part fitted from new, so it carries the same fresh and marine water safety as the pump it replaces.
