Bioscape Pastel Bronze Fine 1-2mm

• Inert – won't shift pH or KH, so it drops into any water chemistry as a purely decorative base.
• Fine 1-2 mm grain – closer to sand than Bioscape's Coarse 2-4 mm grade, giving bottom-dwelling and substrate-sifting species a softer surface to work through.
• Warm bronze tone – a soft, natural colour that reads well in both planted freshwater aquascapes and marine display tanks.
• Fresh and marine safe – the same bag suits freshwater, brackish and marine setups.

Suitable for planted community tanks, corydoras and other species that sift or dig through fine substrate, and marine or brackish tanks wanting a soft bronze base. Not the best pick where you specifically want water and root-tab nutrients to flow through the substrate bed – the Coarse 2-4 mm grade packs less tightly for that.

Rinse thoroughly under running water before adding it to the tank – fine grades carry more dust than coarse gravel, so expect to rinse until the water runs close to clear. Being inert, it won't need replacing on a schedule.

Is this substrate safe for corydoras and other fish that dig?

Yes – the 1-2 mm fine grain is close enough to sand that substrate-sifting species can work through it without the sharp edges a coarser gravel can have.

Will it cloud my water when I add it?

Rinse it well first and it shouldn't. Fine grades hold more dust than coarse gravel, so a thorough rinse under running water before adding it matters more here than with the Coarse grade.

Can I mix it with the Coarse grade?

Yes, both are the same inert bronze-toned material at different grain sizes, so they can be layered or blended in the same tank.

How much do I need for my tank?

Bioscape doesn't publish a coverage figure for this bag. Buy based on your tank's footprint and desired depth, and add a second bag if you need more – it's easy to top up gradually.
