Bioscape Ring Portal 19 x 11cm
A cosmic-ring ornament that doubles as a shelter, sized for a mid-tank feature. The Bioscape Ring Portal is a 19 × 11 cm resin ornament shaped as a stylised ring, with openings sized to give fish and shrimp somewhere to duck through and hide.
Key features
- Statement centrepiece – a bold sculptural shape built to be the visual focus of an aquascape or themed tank, not a background piece.
- Shelter zones built in – the ring's openings give smaller fish and shrimp places to shelter and dart through, not just a shape to swim past.
- Resin construction – cast in aquarium-safe resin rather than a coated or painted material that can chip and expose a different surface underneath.
- Freshwater and marine – stocked for both freshwater and saltwater setups.

Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suitable for freshwater and marine aquariums looking for a themed or sculptural centrepiece, and for shrimp and nano tanks where the ring openings work as shelter. Not designed or sold as a reptile or terrarium climbing feature – it's an aquatic ornament, not a basking or hide product for a reptile enclosure.
Care and maintenance
Rinse thoroughly under running water before adding it to the tank to clear manufacturing dust and any loose resin particles from the casting process. It's inert once rinsed – no curing, soaking or pH adjustment period is needed.
Warranty and delivery
Covered against manufacturing defects under Bioscape's warranty, in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
Common questions
Is it reef safe?
Bioscape stocks it for both freshwater and marine setups. As with any new ornament in an established reef tank, rinse it well and introduce it gradually if you're being cautious about a sensitive system.
Will it affect my water chemistry?
No – it's an inert, aquarium-safe resin that doesn't alter pH or hardness.
Does it sink on its own?
Yes. It sits in place on the substrate without needing to be glued or weighted down for normal use.
Is it big enough to be a centrepiece, or is it a background piece?
At 19 × 11 cm it's sized to be a mid-tank feature rather than a small background accent – most aquascapers use it as the visual focus of the layout.
