Key features
- Live bacteria in the bag to seed the biological filter and shorten the ammonia cycle.
- Aragonite, which raises pH and alkalinity (alkalinity is the water's ability to hold pH steady), the direction reef and marine tanks need.
- No rinsing: CaribSea's instruction is to open the bag and place the contents straight into the aquarium.
- Clarifier in the packing liquid: CaribSea adds its Bio-Magnet clarifier to the liquid in the bag to help the water clear quickly.
Specifications
- Type: live aragonite sand
- Bag size: 20 lb (about 9 kg)
- Maker: CaribSea (USA)
Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suitable for marine, reef and African cichlid aquariums. Not suitable for soft water freshwater tanks or planted tanks where you want low pH, because it will push pH and alkalinity up. Our North Lakes team can help work out how many bags your tank needs.
Care
Put the sand in first, before the tank water, and do not pour it through a full tank, which clouds the water.
Warranty and delivery
Covered by your consumer guarantee rights under Australian Consumer Law against manufacturing faults. Ships by standard parcel post.
