Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suitable as the heat source for small terrariums, nano enclosures and invertebrate set-ups. The 20 W suits the smallest enclosures; the 40 W gives more heat for slightly larger ones. Not suitable as a basking light for species that need bright light, and it gives no UVB (the ultraviolet light reptiles use to make vitamin D3), so pair it with a UVB lamp where your species needs one.
Safety
Ceramic heat emitters get very hot. Use only in a ceramic lamp holder rated for the wattage, always run it through a thermostat, and mount it outside the mesh or behind a guard so animals cannot touch it. Allow it to cool before handling.
