Suitable for desert reptiles with very high UV requirements, tall enclosures, and setups where the tube sits above a dense screen. Not suitable for shade-dwelling or tropical species, which Exo Terra covers with the UVB100. Follow the distance guidance on the pack and always give the animal shaded areas it can move to. It is not a heat source, so pair it with a suitable basking lamp.

A fluorescent tube can keep lighting after its UVB output has dropped, so replace it on the schedule given on the packaging rather than waiting for it to fail. Glass, acrylic and fine mesh between the tube and the animal block part of the UVB, so mount it where it has a clear path to the basking area. Give the animal shaded areas it can retreat to, away from the tube.

Switch off and let the tube cool before changing it, and avoid looking straight at the lit tube.
