Exo Terra Screen Terrarium Small 45x45x60
A compact full-mesh home for climbers that need airflow more than floor space. The Exo Terra Screen Terrarium Small Tall (PT2676) is a 45 × 45 × 60 cm anodized-aluminium enclosure, sized for smaller arboreal reptiles and amphibians that do best with constant cross-ventilation rather than a sealed glass box.

Key features
- Full aluminium mesh on all sides — the airflow smaller chameleons, day geckos and other ventilation-sensitive climbers need.
- Corrosion-resistant black anodized frame — built for regular misting.
- Removable substrate tray behind a swiveling bottom door — full substrate changes without dismantling the frame.
- Large hinged front door for feeding, planting and day-to-day access.
- Nickel-plated, cricket-proof latches keep feeder insects contained.
- Single-screwdriver assembly.
Suitable for — and not suitable for
Well suited to smaller chameleons, day geckos and other arboreal species that need strong airflow and dislike stagnant air, and to keepers working with a limited footprint. Less suited to species that need high, stable humidity, since open mesh loses moisture fast and needs more frequent misting than a glass enclosure of the same size. If your species is a larger adult chameleon needing more floor room, the Medium X-Tall below has the same height on a bigger base.
Which Screen Terrarium do I need?
All four sizes in Exo Terra's Screen Terrarium range share the same aluminium-mesh design.
| Model | External dimensions | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Small Tall (this listing) | 45 × 45 × 60 cm | Compact climbers and smaller day geckos |
| Small X-Tall | 45 × 45 × 90 cm | Adult chameleons needing height on a small footprint |
| Medium X-Tall | 60 × 45 × 90 cm | Adult chameleons and larger climbers needing floor space and height together |
A Large X-Tall (90 × 45 × 90 cm) also exists in Exo Terra's range, for the largest arboreal species.
What's included / what you'll still need
- Included: aluminium mesh frame, removable substrate tray, hinged front door, swiveling bottom door, latches.
- Not included: heat source, UVB lamp, thermostat, substrate, background, decor.
Safety
Mount any heat lamp, ceramic heat emitter or UVB lamp at the minimum safe distance stated on that product's own page, and run it through a thermostat. At 60 cm tall this is one of the shorter enclosures in the range, so check the mounting distance a lamp needs fits within the available height before buying.
Care and maintenance
The anodized frame won't rust, but wipe down mineral deposits from misting as part of routine cleaning. The tray lifts out through the swiveling bottom door for substrate changes.
Goes well with
- An Exo Terra heat lamp or ceramic heat emitter sized to this enclosure's 60 cm height.
- An Exo Terra UVB lamp matched to the species' UV Index needs, mounted per its own gradient table.
- An Exo Terra thermostat matched to the heat source's wattage.
- A background panel for a solid wall the animal can retreat against.
Warranty and delivery
Covered by the standard consumer guarantees under Australian Consumer Law, in addition to any manufacturer term. Ships from our Brisbane / North Lakes warehouse.
Common questions
Is 60 cm tall enough for an adult chameleon?
It depends on the species. Many smaller chameleons and day geckos do well here; larger arboreal chameleons are usually better suited to the 90 cm Small X-Tall or Medium X-Tall, which give more vertical distance for basking setups.
Can I fit a UVB lamp's minimum mounting distance inside a 60 cm enclosure?
Check the specific lamp's own gradient table before buying — some high-output UVB lamps need more clearance than a 60 cm enclosure allows above a basking branch.
Does this come with a background or substrate?
No. It's a bare enclosure — see "What's included" above for the full list of what ships and what you'll need to add.
What's the difference between this and the Small X-Tall?
Same 45 × 45 cm base, but the Small X-Tall stands 90 cm tall against this model's 60 cm — extra vertical space for species that climb high.
