Exo Terra Vista Glass Terrarium 60 x 45 x 45cm (5mm Glass)

A full wraparound view with no corner posts breaking the sightline. The Exo Terra Vista 60 (60 × 45 × 45 cm) is a panoramic glass terrarium built around a bent front-corner glass panel, so the display reads as one continuous curve rather than a series of flat faces joined at a seam. It's the smallest terrarium in the Vista range, sized for smaller reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates, or as a naturalistic bioactive setup where the display itself is part of the point.

Key features
  • Bent front-corner glass – a single curved panel across the front-left and front-right faces, so there's an unbroken view into the enclosure from almost any angle in the room, not just straight-on.
  • 5 mm glass throughout – base, side and back panels, and the curved front panel, all to the same thickness.
  • Dual lockable front doors – open independently, so one side of the enclosure can stay closed for maintenance or feeding while the animal is worked with on the other.
  • Lockable stainless steel mesh top – 304-grade black anodized mesh, hinged for access, letting UVB and infrared through from an overhead lamp while keeping the enclosure secure.
  • Adjustable front-window ventilation – a sliding strip that sets how much fresh air is drawn upward through the enclosure, independent of the mesh top.
  • Waterproof, raised base – supports a deep substrate layer or a full bioactive setup, and is raised to suit under-tank heat mat mounting.
  • Six cable and tubing inlets – three self-closing ports on each side, plus mounting points for a Monsoon-style misting nozzle, so cabling doesn't need to run through a propped-open door.
  • Flat-packed for delivery – arrives as base, two glass panels, PVC back panel, mesh cover and two doors, assembled with the included screws.

Exo Terra doesn't publish an internal-height figure or an empty/furnished weight for this model – the internal height sits a little under the 45 cm external figure once the base and top frame are accounted for. If you're working out clearance for a specific heat lamp or UVB fixture, check that product's own mounting-distance table against the height you'll have left once substrate and hardscape are in.

Which Vista size do I need?

The Vista range runs four sizes. All share the same bent-glass front, lockable mesh top and dual-door layout – the difference is footprint and height.

Model External dimensions Manufacturer capacity
Vista 60 60 × 45 × 45 cm 32 gal (approx. 121 L)
Vista 90 90 × 45 × 45 cm 50 gal (approx. 189 L)
Vista 120 120 × 60 × 45 cm 90 gal (approx. 341 L)
Vista 120XL 120 × 60 × 60 cm 120 gal (approx. 454 L)

The Vista 60 is the entry point to the range – the right pick for a single smaller reptile or amphibian, a smaller invertebrate species, or where floor space or a stand's weight rating rules out the larger models.

What's included / what you'll still need

In the box: terrarium base, two panoramic glass panels, PVC back panel, top frame, mesh cover, two doors, 12 screws and a screwdriver.

Not included: substrate, background, heating (heat mat, lamp or ceramic heat emitter), lighting or UVB, thermostat, décor and hardscape, and any misting or drainage hardware beyond the nozzle mounting points. This is the enclosure only – budget separately for the setup that goes inside it.

Ventilation and escape-proofing

Airflow comes from two places working together: the adjustable front-window vent, which you set to control how much fresh air is drawn upward, and the mesh top, which provides the main air exchange along with UVB and infrared penetration for an overhead lamp. Both front doors lock independently, and the mesh top is hinged and lockable, so a securely assembled and closed unit is escape-resistant for animals that can't push through a stainless mesh gauge – Exo Terra doesn't publish the exact mesh gauge, so if you're housing a species known for squeezing through small gaps, check the actual mesh spacing against that species before relying on it.

Suitable for – and not suitable for

Suited to smaller-to-medium terrestrial and semi-arboreal reptiles and amphibians, and to invertebrates, at the sizes and space this footprint allows. Suited to naturalistic and bioactive setups, given the waterproof raised base. Not suitable as-is for species needing significant height for climbing or a tall thermal gradient – for those, a taller Vista or one of the other Exo Terra ranges is the better fit. Not supplied with any life-support equipment, so it isn't ready to house an animal straight out of the box.

Care and maintenance

Wipe down the glass and mesh as part of routine cleaning; the waterproof base tolerates spot-cleaning and substrate changes without risk to the enclosure itself. Check the door locks and mesh hinge periodically for wear, and confirm cable inlets are seated closed when not in use to avoid drafts or escapes through the gap.

Warranty and delivery

Covered by the standard consumer guarantees under Australian Consumer Law, in addition to any manufacturer term. Ships flat-packed from our Brisbane / North Lakes warehouse – allow time for assembly on arrival rather than expecting a pre-built unit.

Common questions

Does the Vista 60 come with a heat mat, lamp or substrate?

No. It's the enclosure only – base, glass, mesh top and doors. Heating, lighting, substrate and décor are all sold separately.

Can I run a heat mat under this terrarium?

Yes – the base is raised specifically to suit under-tank heat mat mounting.

How does cabling get in for a misting system or probe?

Through the six self-closing inlets (three per side), or the dedicated mounting points for a Monsoon-style misting nozzle.

Is the mesh top strong enough to stop an animal pushing it open?

The top is hinged and lockable, and made from 304-grade stainless mesh, but Exo Terra doesn't publish an exact mesh gauge – check the actual gap size against your species if escape-proofing against a small or determined animal matters.

What's the difference between the Vista 60 and the next size up?

The Vista 90 keeps the same 45 × 45 cm footprint depth and height but adds 30 cm of length, for roughly 68 L more rated capacity – useful where floor space allows a longer enclosure without needing more height.
