Care and maintenance
Fluval recommends rinsing this foam in old tank water roughly every 3 months and replacing it around every 6 months. Because it's sold as a 3-pack, you can stagger replacement — swap one insert at a time rather than all three together, so the bacterial colony on the others stays intact.

Both. Fluval's Bio-Foam+ is designed to do mechanical filtration — catching fine particles — and biological filtration, by giving nitrifying bacteria a large surface area to colonise.

Will this fit my Fluval 307 or 407?
No — the 306/406 and 307/407 canisters use a different, larger foam insert. This pack is sized for the 106, 206, 107 and 207 only.
