Fluval Filter Case Clip

A worn or snapped latch clip is one of the more common reasons a Fluval canister filter starts weeping at the seam. This double clip replaces the case latch on Fluval's 05 Series and 06 Series external canister filters, restoring a tight seal between the filter head and canister body.

Will it fit my filter?

This clip is confirmed to fit the Fluval 05 Series (105, 205, 305, 405) and Fluval 06 Series (106, 206, 306, 406) external canister filters. It is not listed as a fit for the 07 Series (107/207/307/407), the FX Series, or the older 04 Series – those ranges use their own, differently shaped case clips. If you're not sure which series your filter is, check the model number printed on the filter head or motor housing before ordering.

Common questions

How many clips does my filter need?

Most 05 and 06 Series canisters use two latch clips to hold the motor head onto the canister body. This listing is for one double clip; check how many of yours are damaged before ordering.

Will this fit my Fluval 07 Series filter?

No. The 07 Series uses a different case clip design. Get in touch if you're unsure which part your filter needs.

Will this fit my Fluval 04 Series filter?

No. The 04 Series uses its own case clip, sold separately.

My filter is leaking at the lid – is this the fix?

A cracked or loose latch clip is a common cause of a canister filter weeping at the seam where the motor head meets the canister body. If your clip is visibly cracked, distorted or no longer clips down firmly, replacing it usually resolves the leak.
