Maple Leaf Stone
One reddish-brown, porous stone with the deep pitting of a weathered rock face, sold individually. Bioscape Maple Leaf Stone is a natural aquascaping stone in warm reddish-brown to orange tones, with a pitted, textured surface – sold as a single piece rather than by weight, so you can add or replace one specific shape without committing to a full box.
Key features
- Reddish-brown, porous texture – deep pitting and grooves that read as a naturally weathered rock face.
- Sold by the piece, not weight – pick this listing to top up an existing layout or choose one specific shape.
- Each piece is unique – natural stone, so shape, weight and exact colouring vary piece to piece; the photo is representative, not the exact piece you'll receive.
- Suits caves, ledges and terraces – the pitted surface and warm tone work well layered into an existing scape or terrarium build.

Bioscape doesn't publish a weight or dimension figure for the individual piece – it's a natural product picked and sold by the piece, and size varies. We're not printing a figure we can't confirm.
Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suitable for freshwater and marine aquascapes, and for terrariums, where a warm-toned, textured stone is wanted for caves, ledges or terracing. Can cause a slight increase in water hardness over time, so it's worth a bucket test before using it in a soft-water tank intended for species such as many tetras, wild-caught shrimp or Apistogramma, or in a plant-heavy layout relying on low mineral content.
Preparation
Rinse the piece thoroughly before adding it to a tank or enclosure to clear dust from handling. Because it can affect hardness, it's worth bucket-testing first – leave it in a container of your tap or RO water for a few days and check KH, GH and pH before and after, so you know what to expect in the display tank.
Warranty and delivery
Covered against being not as described under Australian Consumer Law. As a natural product, the piece you receive will vary from the listing photo in exact shape and colour – that's expected, not a fault.
Common questions
Will this raise my water hardness?
It can, gradually – the porous stone may release a small amount of mineral content over time. Wash it well and bucket-test it first if you're running a soft-water tank.
Is it safe for shrimp?
It's generally fine for hardier, harder-water-tolerant shrimp. For wild-caught or soft-water species, bucket-test a piece first, since the stone can push hardness up slightly.
Will I get the exact piece shown in the photo?
No – this is a single natural piece and the photo is representative of the stone type, not a guarantee of the specific piece you'll receive.
Can I use it in a terrarium as well as an aquarium?
Yes – it's suited to both freshwater and marine aquascapes and to terrarium hardscaping.
