Red Sea Power Supply ReefRun 5500/6000 & all DC Skimmers
Genuine Red Sea power supply for the ReefRun 5500 and Red Sea's DC-driven protein skimmers. This is the matched supply for pumps in the ReefRun 5500 power band – the same drive electronics Red Sea use in several of its DC protein skimmer return pumps. If a ReefRun or DC skimmer pump won't power on, a failed supply is the most common and cheapest cause to rule out before assuming the pump itself has failed.
Key features
- Genuine Red Sea part – matched voltage and current, not a generic universal adapter.
- Covers the 5500 power band – supports the ReefRun 5500 across its 10–40 W controllable range.
- Shared platform coverage – Red Sea also lists this supply against the ReefRun 6000 and its DC protein skimmer range, which use the same pump electronics.
- Australian mains input – 230 V / 50 Hz, no converter needed.
Will it fit my pump?
This supply suits the ReefRun 5500 and the DC skimmer models built on the same pump platform. It is not rated for the larger ReefRun 7000 or 9000, which each draw more power and use their own dedicated supply. If your skimmer or pump's model plate doesn't clearly match, check with us before ordering – Red Sea's naming has shifted across generations and we'd rather confirm than have you fit the wrong part.

Common questions
Will this run a ReefRun 7000 or 9000?
No – those pumps draw more power and each use their own dedicated supply rated to a higher band.
How do I know if my skimmer uses this pump platform?
Check the model number on your skimmer's pump housing, or send us a photo – we'll confirm fitment before you order.
Is this covered by warranty?
Yes, the standard Red Sea manufacturer warranty applies alongside your Australian Consumer Law rights.
