Red Sea Reefer Max 200 G2+
The middle size in Red Sea's MAX G2+ range, without stepping up the sump. The Reefer MAX 200 G2+ carries 45 L more display volume than the 170 in the same 60 cm footprint, simply by being wider and taller – while keeping the same ReefRun G2 4000 pump and Reefer DC Skimmer 300 fitted to the smaller size.

At 200 L total system volume, this is the smallest size in the MAX G2+ range to reach the point where filled weight (around 275 kg) is worth having your floor checked, particularly on an upper level or suspended floor.
Which size do I need?
The 200 shares its 42 L sump with the 250 – the extra 45 L the 250 offers over the 200 comes entirely from a longer display tank, not a bigger filtration compartment. Against the 170, the 200 gets a dedicated, larger sump (42 L vs 37 L) as well as more display volume.

Choose the 200 over the 170 if you want meaningfully more working volume without extending your wall run past 60 cm. Choose the 250 over the 200 if you can accommodate a 90 cm length and want doubled lighting and flow hardware as well as more volume.
Suitable for, and not suitable for
- Suitable for: reef keepers wanting more headroom than the 170 gives, in the same footprint length.
- Not suitable for: anyone wanting the doubled lighting and flow coverage of the 250 – the 200 keeps the single-fixture setup of the 170.
Care and maintenance
Same routine as the rest of the range: replace the ReefMat fleece roll on a schedule, keep the ReefATO+ reservoir topped up, and check the skimmer cup regularly while a new system's bioload settles.
Warranty and delivery
24 months standard warranty from Red Sea, with the glass aquarium eligible for a further 12 months on registration, in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law. At around 275 kg filled, plan for a two-person lift and have your floor checked before installation.
