Red Sea ReefLED 160S / G2 170 DC Cable
Genuine factory DC cable for the ReefLED 160S and G2 170. This is Red Sea's own power lead between the ReefLED's external power supply and the light module — confirmed against Red Sea's spares reference (R35183) as the correct cable for this size of ReefLED, not the smaller 50/60 or 90/115 units.
Key features
- Genuine Red Sea part — factory DC cable, direct fit, no splicing.
- Fixes intermittent power — the first thing to swap when a 160S/G2 170 light flickers, drops out, or won't power on but the supply itself tests fine.
- Matched connector — correct plug and pin-out for this size class; the 50/60 and 90/115 cables are different parts and won't seat correctly.

Will it fix my light?
If the ReefLED 160S/G2 170 won't power on, cuts out intermittently, or only works when the cable is held at a certain angle, a damaged or corroded cable is a common cause — especially after salt creep has tracked down the lead into the connector. This cable replaces the lead only; if the light stays dead with a known-good cable fitted, the fault is more likely the power supply or the internal PCB, which are separate parts.
Suitable for, and not suitable for
Fits ReefLED 160S and G2 170 only. Not compatible with ReefLED 50/60 or 90/115 — those use their own DC cables with a different connector.
Care and maintenance
Fit a drip loop in the cable run so any water tracking down the lead drips off before it reaches the connector — salt creep wicking into DC connectors is the most common cause of the fault this part fixes.
Warranty and delivery
Covered by Red Sea's manufacturer warranty in addition to your consumer guarantee rights under Australian Consumer Law. Small parcel, standard delivery.
Common questions
My light won't turn on at all — is this the fix?
Check the power supply and wall outlet first. If those test fine and the light still won't power on, or drops out intermittently, this cable is the next most likely fix.
Does this fit the ReefLED 90?
No — the 90 and G2 115 use a different DC cable.
Do I need any tools to fit it?
No tools — it's a direct plug-in replacement for the factory cable.
