Suitable for diurnal reptiles that bask, including tropical and desert species such as bearded dragons and iguanas. It does not provide UVB, so pair it with a UVB lamp. Not suitable as a night heat source, because it gives off bright light. Choose the wattage by enclosure size and room temperature, and check the basking spot with a thermometer.

Zoo Med says to use it only in reptile hoods or clamp lamp fixtures with ceramic socket bases, never plastic fixtures. Set it over one end of the enclosure so your animal can move to a cooler area, and use a thermostat. Let the lamp cool before handling.
