Zoo Med Repti Hammock Large
Give arboreal reptiles a resting spot off the ground. The Zoo Med Repti Hammock is a soft nylon mesh sling that suction-mounts to the glass or acrylic walls of a terrarium, creating a lofty, multi-dimensional perch. The Large size measures 44 cm (17.5 in) and suits mid-to-large arboreal species that like to rest above the substrate.
Key features
- Soft nylon mesh – gentle on skin and scales compared with rigid perches.
- Suction-mounted – attaches to glass or acrylic terrarium walls without drilling or gluing.
- Multi-dimensional perch – gives climbing species a resting spot that isn't a flat branch or the tank floor.
- Three sizes in the range – Small (36 cm), Large (44 cm) and Giant (69 cm), so you can match the hammock to your enclosure and animal.

Choose a size that fits comfortably within your terrarium's width without crowding branches, plants or lighting fixtures.
Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suitable for arboreal and semi-arboreal reptiles that climb and rest off the ground, such as larger geckos and arboreal lizards. Not intended as the sole furnishing in an enclosure – pair it with branches or vines so animals have more than one way to move around the terrarium.
Care and maintenance
Check suction cups periodically to make sure they haven't lost grip, especially in humid enclosures where condensation can affect adhesion. Remove and clean the mesh if it becomes soiled.
Goes well with
Works well alongside climbing branches and vines, and with background panels that give suction cups a textured surface to grip.
Warranty and delivery
Covered by Zoo Med's standard guarantee in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law. Ships as a standard small parcel item.
Common questions
Will this work in a mesh-sided enclosure?
No – the suction cups need a smooth glass or acrylic surface to hold. It's designed for glass and acrylic terrariums, not screen enclosures.
How do I know which size to buy?
Measure the width of your terrarium and choose a hammock that leaves clearance around branches, lighting and other furnishings – the Large suits mid-sized terrariums better than the compact Small.
Can I use more than one hammock in the same enclosure?
Yes, multiple hammocks at different heights can give climbing species more route options, provided the enclosure is large enough that they don't overlap.
Is it safe for animals with sharp claws?
Zoo Med doesn't publish specific guidance on this. If you keep a species with strong claws, check the mesh regularly for snags or wear.
