UV output fades for months before the water shows it, which is why the lamp needs replacing on a schedule rather than when problems appear. This is the genuine 57 W UV-C replacement lamp for the Aqua Ultraviolet Twist UV 57 W steriliser. Fitting a fresh lamp restores full UV-C dose to the water passing through the unit – the single biggest factor in how well a UV steriliser clarifies water or controls pathogens.

Key features
  • Genuine Aqua Ultraviolet lamp – matched wattage and length for the Twist UV 57 W chamber.
  • Restores full dose – UV-C output falls well before the lamp visibly dims or stops glowing, so a fresh lamp on schedule restores sterilising and clarifying performance.
  • 57 W UV-C output – matched to the Twist 57 W ballast; do not fit a different wattage lamp to this unit.
  • Manufacturer reference A20057 – the lamp Aqua Ultraviolet specifies for their 57 W Classic and Twist units.

Suitable for, and not suitable for

Suitable as a direct replacement for the 57 W lamp in Aqua Ultraviolet Twist and Classic units. Not suitable for the 25 W or 40 W Twist units, which need a different wattage lamp – fitting the wrong wattage lamp to a ballast it isn't matched to can shorten its life or stop it striking.

What's included

One 57 W UV-C lamp. The quartz sleeve, unit housing and ballast are not included.

Care and maintenance

Why replace a lamp that still lights up?

A UV-C lamp keeps glowing visible light long after its germicidal UV-C output has dropped below a useful dose. Aqua Ultraviolet's own guidance is to replace at around 14 months of continuous use, regardless of whether the lamp still looks fine.

Do I need to clean the sleeve at the same time?

Yes – wipe or replace the quartz sleeve whenever you change the lamp. A scaled or scratched sleeve blocks UV-C output even with a brand-new lamp fitted.

Warranty and delivery

Sold as a genuine Aqua Ultraviolet spare part. UV lamps are fragile and are packed accordingly for delivery.

Common questions

Can I use a cheaper generic UV lamp instead?

We'd recommend the genuine Aqua Ultraviolet lamp – wattage, arc length and connector all need to match the ballast, and a mismatched lamp can under-dose the water or fail early.

How do I know it's time to replace the lamp?

Go by the calendar, not appearance. Replace at around 14 months of continuous use even if the lamp still lights up – UV-C output drops well before the visible light does.

Will this fit my Classic series 57 W unit as well as my Twist?

Yes – the Classic and Twist 57 W units use the same lamp.
