• Rich in IR-A: Arcadia states the lamp mostly emits infrared energy, and emits no harmful UV.
• Built-in reflector: PAR shape (parabolic aluminised reflector, a lamp with its own reflector; the higher the number, the wider the lamp face) directs light and heat to the basking zone.
• Efficient: Arcadia says the 35 W can replace a 50 to 75 W standard tungsten lamp, and the 100 W a 150 W or larger one.

Suitable as the daytime basking heat for reptiles that bask under the sun. It gives no UVB, so run a separate UVB lamp. Not for night heat, as it gives bright light, and not for household lighting.

Arcadia says to run it on a dimming thermostat with a probe, and to fit it inside a lamp guard (cage) so animals cannot touch it. The lamp is splash resistant but must be kept away from direct water. The 100 W runs very hot: Arcadia warns it can bring dark slate to about 70°C, so start with the lamp well above the basking spot and measure.
