The shorter T5 UV-B fixture for a 60 cm reptile enclosure. The Arcadia Pro T5 Kit 60cm pairs a 24W T5 HO reflector fixture with your choice of Arcadia's Forest 6%, Desert 12% or Dragon 14% UV-B tube - the same measured UV-B output as Arcadia's larger fixtures, sized to fit a standard 60 cm terrarium or vivarium rather than overhanging it.

Key features
  • 24W T5 HO fixture, 570 mm (22.5") long - fits a 60 cm enclosure without extending past both ends.
  • Choice of three UV-B tubes - Forest 6%, Desert 12% or Dragon 14%, matched to Arcadia's Ferguson zones.
  • Coating-free reflector - built without Teflon or absorbent coatings, with two angles of reflection off each curve.
  • Removable reflector for cleaning and tube changes.
  • Flicker-free T5 electronics.
  • Linkable - joins with other Arcadia T5 fixtures, up to 10 in a run, for enclosures wider than one bar.
  • Kit includes the fixture, power cable, fittings kit and a free link cable.

UV Index by distance

Arcadia measures UV Index for its Forest, Desert and Dragon tubes independently of fixture length, so the same figures apply to this 24W fixture as to the 54W version - the tube, not the ballast, sets the UV-B output.

Distance Forest 6% Desert 12% Dragon 14%
300 mm (12") 4.5 Not advised this close
380 mm (15") 3.6 6.5 7.0
450 mm (18") 2.9 4.4 5.5
500 mm (20") 2.5 3.8 4.6
600 mm (24") 1.2 2.4 3.2

Arcadia doesn't publish a Desert 12% reading at 300 mm on its dedicated lamp page, so that cell is left blank rather than guessed. Dragon 14% isn't rated that close at all.

Arcadia hasn't published a mesh/flyscreen reduction figure for this range. If your 60 cm enclosure runs a flyscreen lid, confirm the actual UVI at the basking spot with a meter rather than reading straight off the open-air table.

Which tube do I need?
Tube Ferguson zone Typical species
Forest 6% Zone 1-2 without reflector, 2-3 with Crested and day geckos, small chameleons, anoles, small skinks, dart frogs and other shade-tolerant species suited to a 60 cm build
Desert 12% Zone 3-4 Juvenile bearded dragons, smaller uromastyx, blue-tongued skinks in a 60 cm grow-out or adult enclosure
Dragon 14% Zone 3-4, stronger output Same species as Desert 12%, where the basking branch sits close to the fixture in a compact build
Will it fit my enclosure?

At 570 mm the fixture is built for a 60 cm-wide enclosure - crested gecko and day gecko terrariums, smaller bioactive builds, and juvenile or single-animal setups where a 120 cm fixture would badly overhang the roof. For a 120 cm or larger enclosure, use the Arcadia Pro T5 Kit 120cm 54W instead - running two 60 cm units side by side on a long enclosure means paying for two ballasts to cover ground one 120 cm fixture covers in one.

Care and maintenance

Replace the tube every 12 months regardless of whether it still lights up - UV-B output declines well ahead of visible brightness. Wipe the reflector down when you change the tube; a dusty reflector loses UV output the same way an ageing tube does.

Suitable for, and not suitable for

Suitable for: reptiles and amphibians in a 60 cm enclosure needing measured UV-B at Ferguson zones 1 through 4, matched to your chosen tube.

Not suitable for: mounting where an animal can reach and contact the tube, or as the only check on UV-B - measure your own basking spot with a UVI meter rather than relying on the open-air distance table alone.

Goes well with
  • An Arcadia Pro Ceramic Lamp Holder & Bracket for a separate basking lamp in the same 60 cm enclosure.
  • A UV Index meter, to check the actual reading at the basking spot.
  • A 60 cm mesh-top canopy sized to this fixture.
Warranty and delivery

Check current warranty terms with Arcadia at the time of purchase; this is in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, which apply regardless. The tube is a wearing part, expected to be replaced annually as routine maintenance rather than covered as a fault.

Common questions

Is this fixture long enough for a bearded dragon enclosure?

For a juvenile or a compact 60 cm build, yes. Most adult bearded dragon setups run 120 cm or larger, where the 120cm 54W kit is the better fit.

Which tube should I choose for a 60 cm terrarium?

Forest 6% suits shade-tolerant species like crested geckos and dart frogs. Desert 12% and Dragon 14% suit baskers such as juvenile bearded dragons and smaller uromastyx.

How close should I mount it?

See the distance table above - it depends on the tube and your target UVI for the species.

How often do I replace the tube?

Every 12 months, even if it still looks bright.

Can I link this to another fixture?

Yes, up to 10 units end to end using the included link cable.

What's the difference between this and the 120cm kit?

Fixture length and wattage - 570 mm and 24W here versus 1170 mm and 54W on the larger kit. The UV-B tube options and measured output are identical across both.
