Bioscape Long Spider Wood 90cm 22 per Box
Long, sweeping branch lines for scaping, supplied as a trade box. Bioscape Long Spider Wood is a 90 cm branch format supplied as a box of 22 pieces — the bulk quantity aquascapers, retailers and large installations buy in one order rather than piece by piece. Each branch carries the fine, twisting, root-like structure spider wood is known for, suited to tall hardscapes, paludariums and pieces that break the water surface.
Key features
- Long branch format — 90 cm pieces for tall scapes and installations that need height, not just footprint.
- Trade box of 22 — buy the volume in one order instead of selecting pieces individually.
- Classic spider wood structure — the same fine, twisting branch character as Bioscape's smaller Spider Wood pieces, in a longer format.
- Every piece unique — natural driftwood varies in shape, thickness and colour; the box you receive won't exactly match a photo.
- Aquarium and terrarium use — suited to both, per Bioscape's own product listing.
Specifications
| Piece length | Pack quantity | Material | Use |
|---|---|---|---|
| 90 cm | 22 pieces per box | Natural spider wood (driftwood) | Aquariums and terrariums |
Will it fit my tank?
90 cm is longer than the internal width of most standard aquariums under roughly the 3-foot (90 cm) mark — check your tank's internal length before ordering, particularly if you want branches to sit fully submerged rather than arching above the waterline.
Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suitable for large aquascapes, big hardscape installations, retail counters restocking loose wood, and paludariums or terrariums with the internal height to take a 90 cm branch. Not suitable for nano tanks or small terrariums — Bioscape's shorter Spider Wood pieces (Small, Medium, Large) are the better fit there.
Care and maintenance
Spider wood floats when dry and needs to become waterlogged before it stays down; soaking it fully submerged, weighted if needed, speeds this up. Like all driftwood, it releases tannins that tint the water a light tea colour — this is harmless to fish and plants and fades as the wood cures, and can be reduced with more frequent water changes or active carbon early on.
Warranty and delivery
As a bulk trade box, freight is calculated on size and destination at checkout rather than a flat parcel rate. As a natural material, variation in individual piece shape, thickness and colour is expected and is not a fault. Covered under your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
Common questions
Will this wood sink straight away?
No — driftwood floats until it's waterlogged. Soak it fully submerged, weighted down if needed, for one to several weeks before adding it to a scaped tank, or add it early and let it saturate in place.
Will it discolour my water?
Yes, at first. Spider wood releases tannins that tint water a light tea colour. It isn't harmful to fish or plants and fades as the wood cures; active carbon or more frequent water changes speed it up if you'd rather keep the water clear.
Is every piece the same shape?
No. This is a natural product — length, thickness, branching pattern and colour vary piece to piece within the box, matching the general shape and 90 cm scale shown in photos rather than an exact match.
Can I use it in a terrarium as well as an aquarium?
Yes, this spider wood is suited to both aquarium and terrarium use.
