Bioscape Black Foam Insert Motor Compartment 1500 4Pk
A fresh motor compartment foam stops fine grit reaching the impeller in a Bioscape Velocity 1500 internal filter. This four-pack replaces the small black foam disc inside the motor housing on the mid-size unit in Bioscape's Velocity range, sized specifically for the 1500's motor compartment.

What's included
Four black foam discs sized for the Velocity 1500 motor housing. The filter body, impeller, intake sponge, carbon bag and phosphate pad are not included — this pack is the motor compartment foam only.

- Not suitable for: the Velocity 400, 700, 1000 or 2000 — each uses a foam sized for its own motor housing.
Care and maintenance
Bioscape hasn't published a fixed replacement interval for this foam. Rinse it in tank water at each filter clean, and replace it once it's compressed flat, torn, or no longer springs back into shape — a flattened foam stops catching grit.

Common questions
Will this fit my Velocity 1000 or 2000 instead?
No. Each Velocity model has its own sized motor compartment foam — this one is cut specifically for the 1500's motor housing.
Is this the same as the intake sponge?
No. This is the smaller foam disc inside the motor housing, not the main intake sponge that does the bulk of the mechanical filtering. It's sold and replaced separately.
How do I know if I have a 1500?
Check the model number printed on the filter body, or compare your tank size against the table above — the 1500 suits tanks up to roughly 150 L.
What happens if I don't replace it?
A flattened or torn motor compartment foam stops catching grit, which can let debris reach the impeller shaft and cause it to run noisily or jam over time.
