Bioscape Cloud Terrarium Wide Small 30 x 22 x 18cm
More depth than the entry Wide, on the same low glass footprint. The Bioscape Cloud Terrarium Wide Small is a 30 x 22 x 18 cm glass enclosure with 5 mm glass and Bioscape's raised glass base. It's the second-smallest tank in the Cloud Wide range, giving roughly 11 L to the rim — enough extra height over the entry Wide for a low hardscape piece or a deeper moss slope. It ships as bare glass only, with no light, cover or substrate.
Key features
- 30 x 22 x 18 cm footprint — deeper front-to-back and taller than the entry Wide, for more room to build up hardscape.
- 5 mm glass — Bioscape's stated glass gauge for this model.
- ~11 L to the rim — the extra 18 cm height over the entry Wide's 15 cm adds meaningful working depth.
- Raised glass base — the same 'floating in the clouds' plinth used across the whole Cloud range.
- Open top — no cover fitted, so a light or misting head sits directly over the tank.

Which Cloud Terrarium size do I need?
The Wide Small sits just above the entry Wide in Bioscape's four-model Cloud 'Wide' line-up, all sharing the same landscape footprint and raised glass base:
| Model | External size (L x W x H) | Glass | Approx. capacity | Cover included |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cloud Terrarium Wide | 30 x 18 x 15 cm | 5 mm | ~8 L | No |
| Cloud Terrarium Wide Small | 30 x 22 x 18 cm | 5 mm | ~11 L | No |
| Cloud Terrarium Wide Medium | 45 x 35 x 23 cm | Not published by Bioscape | Not published by Bioscape | No |
| Cloud Terrarium Wide Large | 45 x 30 x 40 cm | 5 mm | 54 L | No — a matching glass cover is sold separately |
Choose the Wide Small over the entry Wide if you want the same compact 30 cm-long footprint but more height for a low rock or wood layout; step up to the Wide Medium or Wide Large if you need a larger floor area rather than just more depth.
Suitable for, and not suitable for
- Suitable for: nano freshwater aquascapes with a low hardscape layer, moss and small terrestrial plantings, propagation boxes, and paludarium builds kept well below the rim.
- Not suitable for: housing livestock on its own — fish, shrimp and reptiles need filtration, heating and/or ventilation this bare tank doesn't provide. Not designed to be filled completely with water.
What's included / Not included
- Included: the glass terrarium itself, on its raised glass base.
- Not included: lighting, cover glass, substrate, plants, moss, filtration and any livestock.
Care and maintenance
Wipe the glass with an aquarium-safe cleaner or plain water — avoid household glass cleaners, which can leave a residue harmful to plants and aquatic life. Clear algae with a soft pad rather than a razor scraper; at 5 mm the glass scratches more easily than a full-depth aquarium panel.
Safety
Glass edges are unpolished on the inside seams — handle an empty tank by the base rather than the rim. The raised glass base is a design feature, not a step or shelf.
Goes well with
- A nano LED light sized to a 30 cm footprint, since none is included.
- Bioscape aquasoil or fine gravel for a planted or hardscape layout.
- Small driftwood or stone pieces suited to the extra 18 cm height.
Warranty and delivery
Covered against manufacturing faults such as a cracked seam or a leaking base on arrival, in addition to your consumer guarantee rights under Australian Consumer Law. Glass items ship boxed and padded as a standard parcel — let the tank sit at room temperature after unboxing before use.
Common questions
Does this come with a light or lid?
No. The Cloud Terrarium Wide Small ships as bare glass on its raised base — no light, lid, substrate or plants are included.
How much more room does this give me over the entry Wide?
About 3 L more — roughly 11 L against 8 L — mostly from the extra 3 cm height, plus a slightly larger footprint.
Can I keep shrimp or small fish in it?
Not on its own. It has no filtration or heating fitted, so it needs a filter and, for fish, a heater added before it's a livestock-ready system.
Is a cover available for this tank?
Bioscape sells covers for its Tall terrarium models but doesn't publish one specifically sized for the Wide Small; check with us before assuming one of the other Wide covers will fit.
