Eco Tech Mangrove Ruins 27.5 x 21.5 x 40cm
A weathered mangrove-root ruin for aquariums and terrariums. The Eco Tech Mangrove Ruins (27.5 × 21.5 × 40 cm) is a moulded root sculpture styled as a collapsed, weathered mangrove stand, adding height and hiding structure to a display footprint under 30 cm square.
Key features
- 27.5 × 21.5 × 40 cm footprint and height – a tall, compact piece for enclosures with limited floor space.
- Weathered ruin styling – broken, layered root texture rather than a single trunk.
- Inert moulded material – safe submerged in aquariums or used dry in terrariums, with no waterlogging, tannin staining or breakdown the way real driftwood has.
- Hides and cover – gaps in the ruin structure give fish and reptiles a place to retreat.

Will it fit my tank or enclosure?
Check the 27.5 x 21.5 cm footprint against your floor space before ordering – this is a tall piece at 40 cm high, so also confirm clearance under any hood, canopy or overhead lighting.
Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suitable for freshwater and marine aquariums and for dry terrarium use. Not intended as a load-bearing structure – position it before adding substrate so digging fish or burrowing reptiles can't undermine it.
Care and maintenance
Rinse before use. No soaking, curing or tannin management required, unlike real driftwood.
Goes well with
Pairs with the Eco Tech Mangrove Wide for a mixed-height mangrove scape, or with Eco Tech twist vine pieces for added cover.
Warranty and delivery
Covered by the Eco Tech manufacturer's warranty against manufacturing faults, in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law. This is a large, heavier decor piece – check freight costs at checkout before ordering.
Common questions
Can I use this in a saltwater aquarium?
Yes. The moulded material is inert and won't leach tannins or affect water chemistry in freshwater or marine setups.
Will it float?
Eco Tech doesn't publish a weight for this piece. If it's your first use in an aquarium, weigh it down or wedge it against substrate until you've confirmed it sits where you want it.
Does it need to be soaked before use?
No. Rinse it to remove dust, then place it – there's no waterlogging or curing period like real wood needs.
