Exo Terra Repti Glo UVB 5.0 Tropical T8 38cm 14w

• Tropical-strength UVB for calcium metabolism, matched to tropical and sub-tropical reptiles rather than desert sun-baskers.
• UVA as well, which Exo Terra says stimulates appetite, activity and breeding behaviour.
• Effective up to 30 cm (12 inches) from the tube, per Exo Terra.

• Power: 14 W
• Length: 38 cm (15 inch) T8 tube
• UVB strength: 5.0, tropical (now called UVB100)
• Exo Terra code: PT2159; current equivalent PT2384

Suitable for tropical and sub-tropical reptiles. Exo Terra recommends running it with a Repti Glo 2.0 tube (now sold as Natural Light) for more visible light. Not strong enough for desert species that bask in full sun, such as bearded dragons; Exo Terra's desert-strength tube is the Reptile UVB150.

Fit in a T8 fixture rated for 14 W and mount it within 30 cm of where the animal basks. Mesh between the tube and the animal cuts the UVB that reaches it. UVB output falls as the tube ages, even while it still lights up, so replace it on a regular schedule rather than waiting for it to fail.
