Fluval 105/106 Filter Case
The canister body itself, for when a crack or stress mark means it can no longer hold a seal.
This is the genuine Fluval filter case, part A20182, the outer canister that holds the media baskets and seals against the motor head above. It fits both the 105 and 106 external canister filters, which share the same body despite their different pump ratings.

It does not fit the 205, 206 or the 07 series – those use taller cases matched to their higher-rated pumps, even though the motor heads look similar.

Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suitable for a 105 or 106 with a cracked, warped or stress-marked case, or one that no longer holds a seal under the motor head clips. Not suitable for the 205, 206 or any 07 Series filter – check your model code against the table above before ordering.
Care and maintenance
A hairline crack in a canister case usually shows up first as a slow weep at the base rather than a sudden leak. Check the case for stress marks each time it's out for cleaning, particularly around the clip mounts, and replace it before a crack runs the full height of the body.

Does one case fit both the 105 and 106?
Yes. Fluval uses the same canister body for both models – the difference between them is the motor head and pump rating, not the case.
Will this fit my Fluval 205?
No. The 205 uses a taller case sized for its higher-rated pump. This part is for the 105 and 106 only.
What's the difference between a filter case and a motor head?
The case is the canister body that holds the media baskets. The motor head is the pump unit that clips on top and drives the flow. They're sold as separate parts so you only replace the one that's failed.
Do the media baskets come with the case?
No, the baskets are sold separately, so an existing set of baskets from your old case will drop straight into the new one.
