Fluval Quick Clear Polishing Pads Suits 306/406/307/407 (6)

Six fine-micron polishing pads that pull the last haze out of a Fluval 306, 307, 406 or 407 canister filter. These are a mechanical polishing stage, not a replacement for your filter's main foam and biological media — drop one in after a tank clean, a substrate disturbance or a water change, and it traps the fine silt and debris your regular media lets through.

Key features
  • Ultra-fine media — traps micro-particles, debris and fine silt that standard foam media passes through.
  • Direct fit — sized for the Fluval 306, 307, 406 and 407 canister filters, no trimming required.
  • Six-pack — enough for repeated short-term polishing runs across several services.
  • Freshwater and marine safe — purely mechanical filtration, no chemical media.

Will it fit my filter?

This pad is sized specifically for the Fluval 306, 307, 406 and 407 canister filters and sits in the media tray alongside your existing foam and biological media. It is not sized for the FX-series or for other brands' canisters — check your model plate against the four numbers above before ordering.

Suitable for, and not suitable for
  • Suitable for short-term mechanical polishing after cleaning, water changes or substrate work, in either freshwater or marine setups.
  • Not intended as permanent, ongoing media — Fluval recommends it for short-term use, then removal, so it doesn't restrict flow once it's loaded with debris.
  • Not a biological or chemical filtration stage — it does nothing for ammonia, nitrite or dissolved organics.
Care and maintenance

Rinse in aquarium water (never tap water) if reusing within the same short-term polishing run, but treat these as effectively single-use — once the pad is visibly loaded with silt, replace it rather than continuing to rinse and reuse it, or flow through the media tray drops.

Warranty and delivery

Covered by Fluval's standard quality guarantee, in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law. Standard parcel shipping.

Common questions

Do these fit the Fluval 406?

Yes — this pack is sized for the 306, 307, 406 and 407 canister filters.

Do these fit the Fluval FX4, FX5 or FX6?

No. The FX series uses its own media basket system; this pad is specific to the 306/307/406/407 range.

Should I run this pad all the time?

No — use it for short-term polishing after a clean or a water change, then remove it. Left in permanently, a loaded polishing pad restricts flow through the canister.
