Frozen White Shrimps 100g
Whole shrimp give larger fish a meaty, high-protein natural meal. Ocean Nutrition Frozen White Shrimps are whole Penaeid (marine) shrimp, 2-3 cm in size, blast-frozen and packed as a single-ingredient food. They suit bigger marine and freshwater predatory fish that naturally hunt and take whole prey items, and the shape and texture encourage normal feeding behaviour rather than just filling a fish up.
Key features
- Single ingredient – whole white shrimp only, nothing else added.
- High protein – 16% crude protein supports growth and condition in larger fish.
- Whole prey format – 2-3 cm shrimp encourage natural hunting and feeding behaviour.
- Blister pack – individual monotray portions make dosing and thawing easier.
- Marine and freshwater use – suits a wide range of larger predatory species in either water type.
- Compatible with feeding tools – can be offered on a feeding prong for target-feeding fish that are wary of loose food.

Suitable for / not suitable for
Suitable for larger marine and freshwater fish that take meaty, whole prey items in the wild, including many predatory community and specimen fish. The whole-shrimp format is sized for fish with a reasonable mouth size and is not intended as a first food for fry or very small species.
Not suitable as a sole diet for herbivorous fish, filter feeders, or corals, which need a different feeding approach. Because this is a whole-prey meaty food, use judgement in mixed reef or community tanks – it is not designed for tankmates that cannot physically take a 2-3 cm shrimp.

Feeding rate and frequency
Feed larger predatory fish 2 to 5 times a day, offering only what the fish will eat within about 5 minutes. Adjust frequency and portion to the size and appetite of the fish, and remove any uneaten food promptly to keep water quality stable.
How to thaw and rinse
Thaw the portion you need in a small amount of tank or dechlorinated water rather than at room temperature or under hot water. Once thawed, drain and rinse the shrimp gently to reduce the amount of liquid and fine particulate matter going into the tank, then feed straight away. Only thaw what will be used in that feed – do not thaw a whole blister pack if you only need a portion.

Common questions
Do I need to rinse the shrimp before feeding?
Yes, a quick rinse after thawing is good practice. It reduces the amount of thaw liquid and fine debris entering the tank, which helps keep water quality steady.
Can I refreeze this product once it has thawed?
No. Once thawed, use it straight away and do not put it back in the freezer.
What fish is this suitable for?
It is intended for larger marine and freshwater predatory fish that naturally take whole meaty prey. It is not intended for small fish, fry, herbivores or filter feeders.
How often should I feed it?
Two to five times a day is the general guide, feeding only what your fish will finish in about five minutes at a time.
Is this a treatment or medicated food?
No. This is a plain, single-ingredient frozen food – whole white shrimp – with no additives, treatments or medications included.
Can I use this in a reef tank?
It can be used for larger predatory fish kept in a reef system, but think about any invertebrates and smaller fish sharing the tank, since a 2-3 cm whole shrimp is not appropriate food for them.
