Measure the corner, not just a wall run: the aquarium's two back edges are 123 cm and 87 cm, so it needs that much clear wall on each side of the corner plus room to open the cabinet doors. Overall height with the cabinet is roughly 145 cm (65 cm tank + 80 cm cabinet), so check ceiling clearance if you're fitting it under a sloped roof or shelf.

Filtration

The Bioflow XL runs on the Eccoflow 1000 circulation pump, rated 1000 L/h at zero head – the figure on the box, not the figure you'll see with five stages of media loaded and the tank's internal plumbing in the way. Juwel doesn't publish a loaded-flow or head-height curve for this internal unit, so treat 1000 L/h as a ceiling rather than a guarantee, and judge turnover by water clarity and flow at the outlet rather than the rated number alone.

Heating

Juwel's own AquaHeat Pro sizing guide rates the 200 W unit for 100–200 L tanks and the 300 W unit for 150–300 L tanks. The Trigon 350 ships with the 300 W unit on a 350 L tank – at the very top of, and slightly beyond, Juwel's own stated range. In a warm room this is fine; in a cool room, or if you're chasing higher tropical temperatures, it's worth budgeting for a second inline heater rather than assuming the integrated unit has headroom to spare.

Combined connected load across LED, pump and heater is approximately 354 W, though the heater cycles on and off rather than drawing full power continuously. Running the LED on a typical 8-hour photoperiod and the pump continuously, and leaving the heater out of the sum because its duty cycle depends entirely on your room temperature, works out to roughly 204 kWh a year – about $61 a year at 30c/kWh for lighting and circulation alone. Juwel does not publish a noise figure for the Eccoflow 1000; expect a quiet, low hum typical of an internal circulation pump once bedded in.

Suited to freshwater tropical community and planted setups making use of a room corner. Not suitable for marine or reef use without significant modification – the MultiLux Day/Nature spectrum and Bioflow media are built for freshwater, not reef lighting or protein skimming.

Rinse the five-stage filter media in tank water on water-change day rather than tap water, to protect the bacterial colony. The LED tubes are replaceable individually rather than as a sealed unit when they eventually dim. Check the cabinet is still level every few months, particularly in the first weeks after filling as timber settles under load.

Filled weight is significant: the tank and water alone come to roughly 423 kg (73 kg empty tank plus 350 kg of water), and around 453.5 kg including the empty cabinet – before substrate, rock or decor. That's within the cabinet's 600 kg rating with margin to spare, but the floor underneath the cabinet needs to be capable of carrying it; check with a builder if you're above ground level or on an older floor. This is mains-powered equipment: keep the heater, pump and LED transformer connections above water level and on a drip loop, and use a residual current device (safety switch) on the circuit.

Sold with the manufacturer's standard warranty in addition to your consumer guarantee rights under Australian Consumer Law. The tank and cabinet ship as separate, heavy cartons – plan for two people to move and position the cabinet before the glass goes anywhere near it.

A second inline heater if your room runs cool, a background thermometer to track actual water temperature against the heater's dial, and a water conditioner for your first fill and ongoing water changes.

Is the Juwel Trigon 350 reef-safe or marine-ready?

No. It's built and equipped as a freshwater tropical system – the lighting spectrum and filtration are matched to planted and community freshwater setups, not reef lighting or protein skimming.

Does the 300 W heater comfortably handle 350 litres?

It sits at the top of Juwel's own published range for that wattage, which tops out at 300 L. In an average Australian living room it will generally cope, but a cooler room or a higher target temperature is worth backing up with a second heater.

What's the floor loading once it's filled?

Roughly 453.5 kg for tank, water and cabinet combined, before substrate or decor – confirm your floor can take that load before installing, especially on an upper storey.

Can the LED tubes be replaced when they dim?

Yes. The MultiLux fixture takes individually replaceable Day and Nature tubes rather than a sealed non-serviceable unit.

Does it come with a heater and filter already fitted?
