Marbled Rock
One hand-picked piece of marbled stone, sold individually. Bioscape Marbled Rock is a natural aquascaping stone with swirling, veined colouring, sold as a single piece rather than by the kilo or the box – useful for topping up an existing layout or picking one specific shape.
Key features
- Swirled, veined colouring – natural marbled patterning that reads as a genuine feature stone rather than a filler piece.
- Sold by the piece, not weight – pick this listing when you want to add or replace a single stone rather than commit to a full kilo or box.
- Each piece is unique – natural stone, so shape, weight and exact colouring vary piece to piece; the photo is representative, not the exact piece you'll receive.
- Suits caves, ledges and ridgelines – a workable shape for building structure into an existing scape.

Bioscape doesn't publish a weight, dimension or hardness-impact figure for Marbled Rock, and we haven't been able to confirm from the manufacturer whether it's calcareous or inert. We're not printing a number or a claim we can't confirm – if you're running a soft-water or shrimp tank, bucket-test a piece in tap or RO water for a few days and check KH, GH and pH before it goes into the display tank.
Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suitable for freshwater and marine aquascapes, and for terrariums, where a distinctive veined stone is wanted for structure or as a feature piece. Because its hardness impact isn't confirmed by the manufacturer, it's not the first pick for the most sensitive soft-water setups – wild-caught shrimp, some soft-water tetras, plant-heavy layouts relying on low mineral content – without bucket-testing a piece first.
Preparation
Rinse the piece thoroughly before adding it to a tank to clear dust from handling. Bucket-test it in a container of your tap or RO water for a few days and check KH, GH and pH before and after, so you know what to expect in the display tank before committing it to an established scape.
Warranty and delivery
Covered against being not as described under Australian Consumer Law. As a natural product, the piece you receive will vary from the listing photo in exact shape and colour – that's expected, not a fault.
Common questions
Will this raise my water hardness?
We haven't been able to confirm from Bioscape whether Marbled Rock is calcareous or inert, so we're not making a claim either way. Wash it well and bucket-test it first if you're running a soft-water or shrimp tank.
Is it safe for shrimp?
Hardness impact isn't confirmed by the manufacturer, so bucket-test a piece before adding it to a wild-caught or soft-water shrimp tank. Hardier, harder-water-tolerant shrimp are less likely to be affected either way.
Will I get the exact piece shown in the photo?
No – this is a single natural piece and the photo is representative of the stone type, not a guarantee of the specific piece you'll receive.
Can I use it in a terrarium as well as an aquarium?
Yes – it's suited to both freshwater and marine aquascapes and to terrarium hardscaping.
