Molykote Lube 6g - 3pk

A pump running rough or noisy is usually asking for a fresh coat of grease, not a replacement. This three-pack of 6 g silicone wet-side lubricant is the servicing grease EcoTech Marine supplies for their own pump ranges – VorTech MP-series wavemakers and Vectra centrifugal return pumps. A thin film on the shaft and ceramic thrust disc during a routine clean keeps the rotor spinning smoothly and quietly; it's ongoing maintenance for a magnetic-drive pump that lives permanently wet, not a one-off fix.

Key features
  • Purpose-supplied by EcoTech Marine – the wet-side lubricant EcoTech stocks for servicing their own pump ranges.
  • Three 6 g tubes per pack – enough for several service cycles before you need to reorder.
  • Silicone-based grease – compatible with the plastics and elastomers used in EcoTech's wet-side assemblies.
  • A little goes a long way – EcoTech's own guidance is a thin film only, since excess grease squeezes out on reassembly and adds nothing.

Care and maintenance

How much should I use?

A thin film only – around the shaft and across the ceramic disc face. Any grease that squeezes out on reassembly is excess and can be wiped away; it doesn't add extra lubrication.

How often should I regrease?

EcoTech doesn't publish a fixed interval. Most keepers reapply at each routine pump clean, alongside checking the impeller and shaft for wear. If a pump has become noisier since its last clean, that's the signal to regrease rather than a set number of weeks.

Common questions

Is this the same as plumber's silicone grease?

It's a silicone-based lubricant in the same family, but EcoTech supplies this specific formulation for their own pump wet-side parts – use the EcoTech tube on an EcoTech pump rather than substituting a hardware-store grease.

Can I use it on other brands of return pump or wavemaker?

We wouldn't recommend it unless that manufacturer specifically calls for a silicone wet-side grease – check their own service guidance first.

Is 6 g enough for one service?

Yes – a full service only needs a thin film, so one tube covers several services on a single pump.
