Ocean Nutrition Artemia Brine Shrimp Flat Pack
A frozen first food fish and fry feed on sight. Ocean Nutrition Artemia Brine Shrimp Flat Pack is frozen adult brine shrimp, sized for small fish, fry and filter-feeding invertebrates that can't manage larger frozen foods. It's frozen as whole shrimp, so the shape and movement cues that trigger feeding are still there once it's thawed.
Key features
- Single ingredient — artemia (brine shrimp), nothing else added.
- Small, even size — around 1 cm, suited to fry and small-mouthed fish.
- Flat pack format — break off a portion without thawing the whole block.
- Freshwater and marine safe — feeds across both setups.

Thawing and storage
Keep the pack frozen until you're ready to feed. Break off the portion you need from the flat pack, thaw it in a little tank or aquarium water, then feed straight away. Don't refreeze a thawed portion.
Being a frozen product, it needs to stay cold in transit, so it's handled separately from non-frozen items in your order.
Feeding rate and frequency
Feed two to five times a day, in an amount your fish clear within about five minutes. Siphon out anything left over.
Suitable for, and not suitable for
Suits freshwater and marine fish, fry, and filter-feeding invertebrates that take small live-sized food. Not the right size for large predatory fish — whole krill is a better match for those.
Goes well with
Works well alongside Ocean Nutrition's Frozen Whole Krill Superba for tanks with a mix of large and small fish, so every size gets a portion it can actually eat.
Common questions
Is this suitable for fry?
Yes — the small, even size of frozen brine shrimp makes it a common first food for fry once they're past the newly-hatched stage.
Can marine and freshwater fish both eat it?
Yes, this product suits both freshwater and marine setups.
How do I thaw a portion without wasting the rest?
The flat pack format lets you break off just what you need and keep the rest frozen for next time.
Can I refreeze unused thawed shrimp?
No — feed what you thaw and only thaw what you'll use in that feeding.
